"The purpose of this essay is to correct the oft-made assumption that the children of '68 were Marxists intent on tearing down American society and reconstructing something new, socialistic and, most terrifyingly, foreign in its place. Naturally there were some elements within the New Politics movement (I shall explain that term later) who wanted to do precisely those things. But this article argues that the vast majority of the kids at Chicago were in fact radical conservatives who came from a very American tradition of anti-authoritarianism. English major co-worker told me she really enjoys hearing me speak, my vocabulary and word choices are fun and interesting and she catches my literary quotes that I sneak into sentences and stuff. I speak a LOT like Matt Christman and did before I heard the guy, thats what hooks me in the first place. But yeah, it's nice to hear from a qualified person that my rhetoric skill is as high as I think it is. Forgot my hearing protection for a concert tonight so I left early and my ears were ringing like twice as loud as normal. I estimate the first act (the part I cared about) was average 85 dB and the main act was average 92 dB but I left the 20 minutes into that so I feel like I shouldn't have done too much damage?

I have tinnitus already so I feel like the temporary louder ringing isn't indicative of significant damage, but shit sucks nonetheless.

TL;DR get earplugs for concerts because tinnitus sucks sooooo bad. Foam ones protect you well if money is tight, but a pair of etymotic research ones (cheap but good brand) or other musician's earplugs are more pleasant to use.
