just defeated

I actually am pretty fond of my appearance overall these days

but of course (dysphoria)having a vagina makes me feel so unfeminine and so gross in my body that I struggle to feel connected at all. I have to spend the majority of my day trying to forget I have it

fuck this stupid ass thing. my hatred of it is so pure. I didn't know anything could make me feel so dead inside

oo yes price is so good! I could listen to that on loop quite a while. favourite in p5 for me would probably be when mother was there

also I agree about the shift in dungeon style being much needed. I'm excited to see how they evolve it again in p6

If you specifically just hated the straight forward grind of the dungeons, then you definitely wouldn't find Tartarus more enjoyable. Have you played Persona 5? That is a bit better in that regard

I definitely like Port Island better than Inaba as a location, but I'm also just more of a city person anyway. In terms of story, I agree that it's definitively better and the stakes are really felt as things go on. It's pretty bleak when everyone around seems to have apathy syndrome and things are just generally falling apart in the end. I also like that the team isn't immediately super close with each other. They all struggle with things that isolate them from each other, so it's nice when they start to push past that. Persona 3 also has my favourite OST of all time

It's not that I don't like 4. I think they went for a completely different vibe and pretty much stuck the landing. Things are more wholesome, characters connect so much quicker, it all feels so much more slice of life - which is so not MegaTen lol. Anyway, there are times where I'm in the mood for that and it hits just right. I generally like the characters a lot and appreciate their friendship more than anything. I definitely don't feel the same tension as the mystery goes on, which is unfortunate. That could have been balanced in a way that hit harder. I mean I figured there was no way they'd ever kill Nanako, but written differently I might not have been so sure. Anyway, I have nothing but love for both games and they rank high on my list (as do the other games in the series)

I would strongly argue for Persona 3 being goated objection

[–] Yor@hexbear.net 4 points 2 days ago (9 children)

it's miles ahead of Persona 4.

depending on how you're judging a game, that's not so difficult :p

that's unfortunate about dragging on though. I do like JPRGs with a longer story, but so many just pad for no reason. typically I don't have that issue with MegaTen games. also, hacking a 3ds is based and good. the only physical copies of games I have for mine is Fire Emblem or MegaTen (and Radiant Historia). I like physical copies of series that I'm fond of, but that ends with Metaphor lol. I could import a physical copy for ps4, but tbh I'd play it more if I had it on pc

iconic design. I'm somewhat partial to black frost because I usually keep him in my roster for so long

I've heard really good things! I'm guessing you enjoyed it a lot?

I haven't been as good with spinoffs and I'm trying to fix that lol. I have all of the 3ds releases, so I could easily just play it in bed too. maybe I'll start doing that a bit every night

[–] Yor@hexbear.net 7 points 2 days ago

oh I feel like that very much depends on what type of game you're looking for. SMT V is quite a leap in terms of the overworld itself, exploration, and refining the press turn system too. the original version of V is a bit loose on story, tho the re-release (V: Vengence) fixes that quite a bit. I think there's more than enough story to justify playing through the original story fwiw and Da'at is a really cool world to explore. IV is much more the traditional MegaTen vibe in terms of overall gameplay and doesn't benefit from the quality of life improvements that have been standardized over the last decade since it's release. the story is very strong though and it's a really great experience.

curious on how you were feeling about both games when you last played them?

[–] Yor@hexbear.net 5 points 2 days ago (13 children)

I actually own the 3ds version too lol, I've just put it off forever cause I keep replaying other games. I'll do that after my current persona 4 run. trying to beat everything I have going before metaphor comes out

which is your favourite jack variant?

we're so back

the entire staff of Annapurna Interactive, the gaming division of Megan Ellison’s Annapurna, has resigned after failing to convince Ellison to let them spin off its games division into a new company. IGN is corroborating the report.

“All 25 members of the Annapurna Interactive team collectively resigned,’’ former president Nathan Gary and staffers told Bloomberg. “This was one of the hardest decisions we have ever had to make and we did not take this action lightly.”

anyone else have a song from an OST that visibly takes you back to moments of the media it's from? I can hear Kyon doing a monologue every time this song plays

Every so often I see it brought up as being so edgy and funny, but it's really not. There are a few moments that are funny, but they're packed between racism, ableism, and really any kind of -ism you can imagine. It gets defended as "just a shitpost" from the same crowd that talks about the glory days of people not being so easily offended. I rewatched a compilation before posting this just to be sure of my critique and it's exactly as I remembered lol. Nothing but attack helicopter tier jokes. Some people say if you didn't watch it in the 2000s you won't get it, but I've seen shows from the 2000s that are actually good and funny shrug-outta-hecks

Anyway, I'm convinced most people who talk about how funny it is haven't seen anything beyond clips. It's just lazy and boring
