I've never met you before, but you're still the reason I'm reading Trans Liberation now so thanks for that

I would absolutely love to be a part of this if it ever happened. The absolute dream

I mean, I've said this to all my lib friends and it's made them step back a little bit because they all realize it's true.

Obviously I don't support Trump, but there was a very strong energy in me that wanted Trump to win. The biggest reason being that if Kamala won, normal people would stop caring. As everybody on here says, everybody would have just gone back to brunch if Kamala won. Trump is radicalizing. Whether that's left or right depends on the person, but Trump's rhetoric will radicalize people

I'm sorry, it sounds like you've been having a really rough time. Alcohol is a difficult one to put down, I'm proud of you for having the strength to go back to rehab. Everything sucks now, but the longer you maintain sobriety the more worth it it becomes. Best of luck friend.

Why do I love Luce so much?

[–] LeylaLove@hexbear.net 26 points 5 days ago

Saw this and commenting on it so I don't get any more questions, this was not me. I wish I had that much money to try to donate, but I'm living paycheck to paycheck right now. I plan on donating some on Friday, but I really don't need any more DMs asking why I did this for something I have nothing to do with

I still cry thinking about the time I posted on mutual aid needing money to keep my ex's nephew out of foster care and the people on here sent enough to get him a Halloween costume and lice treatment after the court costs? This place is my safe space

I checked out all the gofundmes even though I don't have the money to donate right now, holy shit I'm bawling you guys. This website has done so much good for the world it's almost overwhelming

What symbol are you using instead of S? I've never seen that before

Neither party is particularly good on climate change, so there's no reason for it to be a voting issue. Those who actually care about the environment also see that the Dem solutions are useless and only succeed in not being climate accelerationism. Younger generations really care about climate change, to the point it's a main political issue. But neither candidate is doing anything compelling enough to be a voting issue.

I'm not voting, and I'll promise you that Kamala's better views on climate change do nothing to contribute any confidence to vote for her

I ended up handing out candy in a friend's parent's house. People don't trick or treat at apartments and it makes me so sad. But it was nice to hand out candy to kids this year, especially because I'm young enough to know just how to fuck with them lol

Hey y'all, just in the posting mood today! I was writing another post and thought about my love for good vegan alternatives. I am not personally vegan, but as someone who takes great pride and pleasure as a cook serving other people food, I want to serve my vegan comrades as best as I can, so I try to taste test a lot of vegan stuff. I'm not a carnist who believes that the vegan option can never taste as good, I just have a lot of allergies so I have to be cautious about eating things that aren't meat. However I've tasted and heard from vegans, certain things like cheese simply aren't as good as the non-vegan counter part. I feel like we hear about this stuff way too much though, as there are so many interesting flavors vegans use that carnists don't.

My personal pick for this topic is coconut aminos. Soy sauce is a great way to add umami flavor into almost anything you're making, so I was disheartened at first when I heard that soy sauce wasn't vegan. But one of my vegan friends got me a bottle of coconut aminos to try, and it blew my mind. The extra sweetness in it makes so many things you'd use soy sauce for way better. Teriyaki sauce should always be made with coconut aminos, fried rice gets a slight sweetness that really lends well to the veggies in it, it's so fucking good.

Oh boy, hopefully people are reasonable about this and it doesn't start a full struggle session like frying in olive oil. As someone whose been cooking professionally for 6 years, I'm very familiar with both "real" and "fake" truffle oil. I've cooked with it in many restaurants with many different uses. It's a very popular ingredient in modern American restaurants, and I've heard about it picking up in other western countries as well.

To fill in non-foodie people who may be reading this, truffle oil at restaurants is very rarely made from real truffles, instead being a chemical approximation of over 300 different truffle compounds. It's a very unique scent that you're only getting from the fake truffle oil though. Real truffle oil has very little scent or flavor, being far more subtle of an ingredient than the fake stuff. For reference in the difference, people allergic to mushrooms have no problem consuming the fake truffle oil.

To give my thoughts so that this isn't one sided, this might be a hot take but I love fake truffle oil. It smells kinda funky at first, but it goes so well as a finisher on so many dishes, just giving a slight mushroom funk without making it overwhelming. I also like it for allergy reasons, I don't personally have an allergy to mushrooms, but as someone who LOVES serving food, I want everybody to be able to get good tasting food.

I got a respiratory infection and got prescribed Prednisone to fight it. The Prednisone has been helping, but has made my symptoms of schizophrenia a lot worse, including dangerous mood swings and tweaky paranoia. Does anybody have any suggestions for dealing this this?

We're going down the DIY route, so it'll be much cheaper, but I'm trying to get as many girls their sublingual drops and t-blockers as possible. I know how to make sublingual drops, since I'm personally too afraid to do injections. The t-blockers are quite expensive compared to the estradiol, and I'm trying to keep things as cheap as possible because everybody who has talked to me about getting hormones is quite poor. Anybody who wants to help me with my little mutual aid project, feel free to DM me for payment info. You'll be subsidizing people's hormones

Edit: Figured I'd add this, I already have mine. I tested my idea for DIY sublingual drops on myself first. This is purely for other people.

God this song is just so magical

If you guys like rap, the album that this is from has no skips. Every song on it is great

I make one at work, and it confusing as hell to me. For those of you who don't know, a club sandwich standardly contains lettuce, tomato, ham, turkey, bacon, and some sort of mayo based sauce. Its gimmick is that it's a sandwich on top of a sandwich, using 3 pieces of bread instead of the standard 2. Instead of being something that you can realistically take a bite of, the club sandwich specializes in being absolutely fucking impossible to take a bite out of. Do club sandwich enjoyers just completely unhinge their jaw and schmack like they're in Scooby Doo? What does the third piece of bread even add to the sandwich other than more height? Why don't you add a 4th piece of bread and just have 2 sandwiches?

At work, we cut them in quarters and put sticks through 2 quarters, making a kebab of sandwich. I literally cannot imagine how these fuckers eating this are doing it. Eating a sandwich like corn on the cob is a disturbing thought, but possible. This is one of the dumbest pieces of food I can ever imagine

One of my favorite Slowdive songs. I love Slowdive for many different moods. While their most popular album, "Souvlaki" focuses more on the pop side of dream pop that creates insanely catchy yet dissociative sounds, the album this is from "Pygmalion" focuses more on the dream side of dream pop. The intro for the album, "Rutti" is a very progressive track, having so many strange time signatures popped on top of each other. The album is generally more psychedelic than dissociative with its constantly changing rhythms. I love Slowdive.

Like holy shit, he was truly at a point in the grift that it was more comedic than anything. He just kept fucking going at every point, every time I read about something he said I laughed out loud. He was just so comically evil and transparent about it. Why can't we have any more funny grifters like him?
