American Psycho was filmed in Toronto Canada in 1999. An estimated 238K people died in Canada in 1999. Yet the "media" remains silent.

The amount of American Psycho films increased to 100% when they released the movie but you never hear anyone talking about that.

He did also move to a mark on the ground and he repeated the lines he memorized when told to

[–] phorq@lemmy.ml 10 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I don't believe you, do you have video evidence of this?

[–] Anticorp@lemmy.world 16 points 1 year ago (1 children)

See: American Psycho, the movie

[–] idunnololz@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

How do I know it wasn't a body double.

[–] DampSquid 16 points 1 year ago

I've also heard rumours that he stood where he was told to

Listen — I’m just trying to get things straight. Isn’t this the very definition of a Shitpost?

His reaction looks like he's getting interviewed by Dr. Steve Brule.

[–] wowwoweowza@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 year ago

Thought so. There’s a good Shitpost community here in Lemmy.

I've never seen this before but it's immediately one of my favorite gifs of all time

This is also known as method acting

[–] everett@lemmy.ml 21 points 1 year ago

Yep, that's when you make a movie using the acting method.

[–] WhiskyTangoFoxtrot@lemmy.world 13 points 1 year ago

Marlon Brando didn't. 'Cause Marlon Brando wasn't in American Psycho.

[–] KingJalopy@lemm.ee 13 points 1 year ago (2 children)

These method actors always doing crazy shit to get into their roles

[–] funkless_eck@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 year ago

funny because, this is actually closer to what "The Method" really is than any of the weird shit you hear about (a way of analyzing text into small compartments of meaning and what their transitive emotional properties are and then considering the impact those words would have on another person when said with different intentions, and picking one based on surrounding context clues also found in the text)

And now you know how far he'd go.

[–] sentient_loom@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 year ago

This is apocryphal. There's no data to support it.

[–] Lawyerator@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

Huh, here I thought it was a long ad-lib for a rom-com that got waaaay off track.

Confirmed: back in my theater days my preparation for roles was identical to that of Christian Bale.

[–] Vitaly 3 points 1 year ago

actually he just behaved as usuall

[–] odium@programming.dev 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

He’s a madman

[–] Omega_Haxors@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Another fun fact is that the original writer made the main character a self-insert and saw him as the good guy.

[–] lowleveldata@programming.dev 1 points 1 year ago

That's crazy

[–] Kunstbanause@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago
