Get off reddit for 1 year (I did) and the rest of the social media crap for ever. It is refreshing and now that I am back I am ready to switch off again.

Depends on the definition of world class. It has to be quantifiable to be equally applied to all. For example, being in top 1, 2 or 5% of all ballers based on Transfermarkt evaluations. All the rest are subjective, biased and emotional.
I keep on saying for the past year - train an AI ref on several thousand proper calls. It would be a single entity making calls across leagues and tiers and comps.
For who - the refs? Then OK.
Haaland sold it too hard and the ref bought it. Case closed.
