I cant believe im saying this. Man city got absolutely robbed. The epl referees are disastrous. This reminded me of a video of the danish league where the referee blew a whistle by mistake on an advantage play when the guy was through on goal and was extremely apologetic. Our refs will never show such class.

Btw I don’t support man city and this is the result i was seriously hoping for as an arsenal supporter. But how do you mess up so bad? And no apologies at all? Geez who tf do these refs think they are?

Very odd decision from the ref, now we join the club of being robbed

Cry at home

[–] Good_March_3033@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Welcome to the club!

[–] Skom666@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

ref was a wanker period.

[–] CraigDM34@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Ah well. What ya gonna do, hey ho.

[–] kicksjoysharkness@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

You conceded three

[–] ray3050@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

The result I want but man that was such a horrible call, what’s wrong with pausing for a second if it feels like there may be an advantage?

[–] Free_Palestine_23@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Fuck Man Sheikhy

[–] theromingnome@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

How does it feel?

[–] Drokran@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

This is why it's pointless to try to argue over who has suffered the most from these decisions, and who benefits from it. There is no referee conspiracy, it's just incompetence. The quality of refereeing is apalling, and every club has had their turn getting screwed by it. This narrative of such and such coach making excuses or needing to move on is just getting the refs off the hook week after week for some god awful calls.

115 breaches

[–] Griffeyisking14@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

100%. Shoulda let play continue. Maybe the refs are in Spurs' pocket for these big matches?

Ah well - couldn't have happened to a better squad.

Edit: Clearly the sarcasm in the last sentence didn't come through, ahaha.

[–] BaconOnTap@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Definitely nothing to do with all the missed chances. 💯 The ref.

[–] Reddit90210008@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

I wanted Spurs to win that but that was an appalling decision.

He even played Grealish on. If he was concerned for Haaland, then why didn’t he stop the game immediately?

[–] Shyam_Wenger@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Always rated Premier League refrees.

[–] milkonyourmustache@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

First time?

[–] SilvaDaMelo@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Oh well, what goes around...

Hope they're rattled.

[–] CuclGooner@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

bro its been 2 minutes apologies don't come out this quickly

Utterly shit call though, how is that even possible?

[–] Jeff8247@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

I guess the oil money didn't make it to Simon's account in time?

[–] External-Piccolo-626@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

It looks like he blew because he thought city had lost the ball, i e no advantage. But who knows.

[–] daven_53@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Grealish looked offside so it might not have worked in City's favour. Happy with the result though. They shouldn't moan about the ref when they concede 3 goals like that. Haaland missed a sitter early on.

[–] abhinavxk0@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

crazy how referees get away with it too

[–] Solid_Solid724@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Guarantee the pundits don't mention it afterwards

[–] fanbritlit@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Truly a bad call from the ref. He played advantage, then it looked like Grealish probably wouldn't win the long ball, so the ref whistled. Should have waited. As a Spurs fan, glad he didn't.

[–] Asphyxiat263@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

It was a horrible call that much is clear but to call it a robbeery is just laughable. There is absolutely no guarantee that Grealish takes it down, doesnt get tackled and manages to score. I know that reddit is a cess pool for bad opinions but jesus christ, take breath and have a think about what you are posting before you post it.

[–] WooNoto@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Played advantage then called it back. Was Grealish offside? It made no sense and just a horrendous decision.

[–] Any_Witness_1000@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Could anyone tell me what happened in this game? Did not catch it live.

[–] DM_ME_UR_CUTE_DOGGOS@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Has there been a single gameweek this season that hasn’t displayed complete incompetence from the officials at least once?

[–] Daver7692@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

My only thought is he assumed Grealish was off so blew the whistle as the advantage was gone?

Still in this technology era I don’t see the harm in letting something that close roll to its conclusion and then sorting the potential offside after?

[–] Legit_liT@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Not fun when you're on the receiving end is it

[–] w0lfeton3@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

I thought Man City “pay the refs” ?

[–] arsenaler211@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

I think he was coughing but were too embarrassed to admit. LOL

[–] Reasonable-Respond-1@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Karma for cheating for the last 10 years

[–] TaterTron2000@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Basically, players go down after a foul so often now that an advantage is so rare the ref has forgotten what to do about it

[–] ThaiFoodThaiFood@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Colour me shocked that an Arsenal fan doesn't like a Spurs result.

[–] Ill-Maximum9467@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Honestly, they've got the rub of the green for years and so one refereeing cock-up is neither here nor there. And I'm not even going to mention the 115 FFP charges so let's keep some sense of perspective here with the 'got absolutely robbed' crudola, huh?

[–] Vegetable_Army3527@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Simon Hooper reffed this match and Spurs vs Liverpool. He shouldn’t be a ref anymore

[–] Fresh-Revolution21@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Terrible decision but hilarious

[–] JustCallMeSalex@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Grealish looked offside anyway, no?

[–] 777marc@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Oh booohoo. If Arsenal and Liverpool slip up next week they could be top again. It’s not that bad! Geez.

[–] realmonkey_business@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

What a shitty refereeing this season so far.

[–] jbowen1303@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

I mean, to put things into wider context, remember Man City have just won a treble and continue to win most titles PL these days due to their never ending financial resources, which enable them to dominate the league (to the point it’s now boring because only one team really wins it.) So… I’m sure they can afford to not too bothered by one bad decision in one game.

[–] RedDevilGranta@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago
[–] d311h0p@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

ManCity players literally surround the ref on every call that doesn’t go their way and never get punished for it it’s wild

[–] Available_Command252@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Fun to see all the crying that it's fair when it happens to city. Almost like refs aren't corrupt, they're just shit

[–] Euphoric_Living2053@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Counter balance

[–] CuriousGorge4@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Simon Hooper IS directly responsible for Spurs + points this season.
