By the time Biden dropped out, yes, she was really the only choice, logistically. I think at that point, 3 months ago, there was basically nothing the dems could have done to have won this. They could have made it closer, but any real shot at a candidate people liked, would have needed to have gotten spooled up a year ago, at minimum, two years ago ideally.

The DNC shares so much blame for overall strategy of the last decade+, but the decision for Biden to insist on aiming for a 2nd term the whole time, despite pressure, and only cave when the saw just how grim those final projections really were, is mostly his, personally.

I don't super like coconut animos. They're fine, but too sweet imo. But, Tamari is good as well, and I do really like this vegan 'fish sauce' my local asian mart sells, made from fermented pinapple.

Oat milk is the big one to me. I think its so much tastier than dairy milk.

In addition to what was already said, you probably will go to the restroom more often, as Vegan food tends to be less calorie dense and more fiber rich, so you tend to eat more, in terms of 'actual volume of food' (even if, often, its still lower caloric intake). A bigger concern isn't really 'more often' so much as 'irregularly', or 'painfully'.

I sill love the Frank Frazetta Eowyn art, where her whole ass is out, as, since she's dressed in 'normal' Rohirrim armor, implies all the Rider of Rohan are thotted up, ass out

I have some resentment, personally. Not that there aren't valid reasons for it, especially in our broken system, but I have a highly restricted diet (dozens of deadly food allergies), so I can't eat out ever (due to cross contamination being a roll of the dice), and even most prepared foods I can't have.

So I spend a lot of time and energy, cooking delicious, cheap, vegan meals for myself, despite having a blue-collar job. And it does bother me, seeing people who can eat 'whatever' just eating slop.

Even when I feel like shit, and eat 'slop', it's generally a stir fry, something like rice, (frozen) veggies, and sauce, thrown in a pan for five minutes. I rationally understand the various reasons people might not have the energy or cooking skills for even that, but emotionally, it does bother me.

Exactly my opinion. It is interesting in some ways, but it apes the mmo style of quest design too closely for my tastes.

I do think its hornyposting, but also my barometer for such things is way off, since I'm ace.

Mostly, I hate the trope of 'lets just draw X, but all hot young (usually anime, though not here) women'

(but also, I usually don't comment either way, just ignore and possibly block user)

Its not really cool to l lie about food allergies; doing so makes it less likely for people with food allergies to be taken seriously.

Though tbh, I avoid eating out unless I literally have too anyway, been poisoned too many times from I assume cross contamination or negligence.

(and, I am also vegan, which doesn't make 'eating out' easier)

is is the case with most health issues, certain deficiencies can cause certain issues. But, outside of having a specific deficiency, its all placebo.

Will taking vitamin D and B12, magnesium, etc. cure your AuDHD? No.

Could taking them make you feel better in some ways, freeing up some spoons/mental space to better handle whatever issues in your life that requires energy and focus to deal with? Yes, its possible. Assuming you are deficient, which, minor to moderate deficiencies in those three aren't uncommon.

That would literally kill me (well, probably actually just sent me to the hospital).

I thought, when I first went vegetarian (vegan now) years ago, that I wouldn't need to specify 'no fish' when I ordered food labeled 'vegetarian'. But Fish sauce or Oyster sauce has sent me to the hospital at least once.

I no don't really eat out ever anymore, as I don't feel like gambling on the 1% cross contamination chart (got several other allergies too), but its crazy to me that food labeled as vegetarian is allowed to have fish sauce in it.

A lot of languages also don't consider 'meat' to include 'fish meat', having entirely separate words for the two.

but yeah, I think in the US, its mostly catholicism brainworms

You are right. But like, 'learning to do sportstalk' to help with 'socialization' (especially at work) doesn't make me like sports. If anything, I kinda makes me think its dumber.

But yeah, sports, beers/alcohol, guns, hunting, all classic 'guy talk' I'm decently good at, despite none being things I'm really into.

Rant spoiler-ed below, because its mostly just complaining, but it feels like a lot of games lately have added 'gamified xp' to their systems, and I don't understand the appeal at all. The most positive any player I've talked to has felt about the systems are 'meh, I could take it or leave it', with most slightly disliking them.

So, mostly, I'm looking for people that like these kinds of mechanics (I have to assume they're out there if so many games feel like they're adding them), and what you is it you like about them.

But I feel like Milestone XP just makes the most sense for any traditional coop party RPG.

rantI like trying out a bunch of different systems, and there's a lot to like, especially with a lot of the smaller games out there. I do like there 'narrative' approach ttrpgs feel like they've been taking recently, but between Chronicles of Darkness, ICON, Forged in the Dark, Apocalypse world, etc., and all there spinoff systems all having XP be earned for specific actions in game, its just a pain in the ass, that takes me out of the action.

I mostly GM, but I strongly prefer milestone XP. For some of the above games, its easy enough to gut their bespoke XP systems out of it, and just have players advance over time, but in several of them, it fucks with the overall balance, since several actions are 'bad', but made worthwhile because they earn XP.

But I don't like the feeling of interrupting game to award point, and adjudicate character advancement. And I hate systems that have players advance unevenly. There's always going to be a certain degree on uneven-ness in player attention, of rules mastery, and of spotlighting. As GM, its important to manage those so that everyone gets a chance to shine. But it just feels like increasing that workload for the GM, to need to additionally pay attention to the XP, and try to drag or XP share the players that don't find those systems engaging to not mechanically fall behind.

And as a player, I tend to have higher system mastery and attention than the others I play with, and tbh it feels bad to end up with more XP because of that. But also, it feels bad to knowingly pass up free XP by purposefully not engaging with those systems.

Really, only Call of Cthulhu and Paranoia feel like their gamified XP fits, and that's largely because the games are supposed to feel hopeless and unfair, and in the case of Paranoia, gamified and playing favorites.
