I had no idea of how this person is, so I skimmed the Wikipedia page on her.

She seems like a thoroughly unlikable person, I am sad that I now know that she exists

[–] Lazycog@sopuli.xyz 2 points 3 days ago

I apologize for brining her up.. The post and comments were worthy of this sub so I wanted to post. But again, I'm so sorry

None of these "platforms" are a public right. Not a single one.

If she wants, she could setup her own mastodon instance and pay for her own hosting fees, but she'll watch herself get defederated from every mainline instance because no one else is obligated to deal with her.

Who's the fuck making a pack of kid-sized handcuffs?

Registered sex offenders

Imagine how gay people felt trying to get married until just a few years ago.

Banned for simply existing.

How about trans people trying to travel into or out of a country. Or applying for a job and having to submit their deadname and their birth sex revealing their medical history. Or getting pulled over and getting interrogated over their ID. Or trying to take a leak while at the office or a restaurant and being told they have to leave.

Banned for simply existing.

How about being born as a visible minority and getting stopped and frisked just for being in public.

Banned for simply existing.

But not being on Bluesky? That’s taking things too far!

[–] Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works 24 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Until just a few years ago? Take a look at yesterday. It's back.

[–] wise_pancake@lemmy.ca 16 points 1 week ago

I have no idea what all the effects of that executive order are, but yeah I could see that being the case now in a lot of places.

Marriage affects your taxes, your ability to buy in a house as a couple, adoption, your will/estate, being in the hospital... A lot of important things.

It's really basic human rights.

These people can't stand stand they will be left behind in Twitter like being on the titanic

I sent this to a friend and they replied with this meme

They went onto to say "idk, each time I think I understand what Hegel was saying, I think a little more and get confused again", which I think is (as the kids say) a tremendous mood

[–] superkret@feddit.org 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Hegel didn't understand what he was saying himself.
He basically invented a new language, while probably taking copious amounts of halucinogenics.

[–] AnarchistArtificer@slrpnk.net 2 points 3 days ago

I will tell my friend that their problem is a lack of hallucinogens.

[–] JargonWagon@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

Daria? I'm signing up.

[–] Th4tGuyII@fedia.io 46 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Loomer finally gets to feel what its like to be the people she vehemently discrimates against, yet I get a feeling she won't learn a damned thing from that.

[–] PhilipTheBucket@ponder.cat 47 points 1 week ago (2 children)

She will not.

Their whole MO is whining when they lose, and crowing when they win. Whatever region of the brain is supposed to map their experience to other people, so that they can feel what that other person is feeling and imagine it as their own experience, is simply atrophied or doesn't exist. Their side and their own feelings are hugely important, and must be protected. Yours do not, because fuck you, you're not them. They do not apologize for this or make any attempt to hide that it is the way.

[–] dyathinkhesaurus@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago

She's the Main Character.

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 29 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

In case anyone wants actual proof:

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10281241/

They measured empathetic responses using an MRI. Conservative's empathetic responses are stunted.

[–] AnarchistArtificer@slrpnk.net 1 points 6 days ago

I feel compelled to note that this correlation doesn't necessarily mean there's straightforward causation either direction. That is to say that I don't believe that conservatives are inherently less empathetic. Such a belief can hardly be scientifically tested but ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯ it helps me to cope

[–] in4apenny@lemmy.dbzer0.com 40 points 1 week ago (1 children)

That image reply actually made me laugh out loud.

[–] Lazycog@sopuli.xyz 28 points 1 week ago (1 children)
[–] in4apenny@lemmy.dbzer0.com 12 points 1 week ago

How I imagined a gif of that would be, that or a singular tear slowly forming.

[–] Iron_Lynx@lemmy.world 40 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I'm from under a rock or maybe the wrong side the pond. Who's this? Some conservative nutjob with too much of a podium?

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 44 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Exactly so. She was very close to Trump, but his team ran her off for being too nutty.

[–] ICastFist@programming.dev 32 points 1 week ago (3 children)

"too nutty" for trump's team? Holy fucking shit, I didn't know that was possible

[–] Lazycog@sopuli.xyz 21 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

If I remember correctly this person was too nutty even for Marjorie Taylor Greene. I'm not from the US but these crazies have made it into international news enough times that I know who they are.

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 12 points 1 week ago

Only billionaires get to Sieg Heil in public, she just didn't know her place.

[–] Raiderkev@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

I believe she was the origin of "they're eating the dwawgs" comment in the debate

[–] shy_mia@lemmy.blahaj.zone 11 points 1 week ago

Trump's right hand woman, in a sense. And that hand has definitely gone places...

[–] TachyonTele@lemm.ee 32 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Whatever the wrong lesson is here, that's the one Loomer will learn from this.

[–] frunch@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Well i mean she couldn't possibly be wrong, lol! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

[–] Cold_Brew_Enema@lemmy.world 27 points 1 week ago

I fucking love that that stupid cunt got banned. Fills my heart with joy

[–] RobotToaster@mander.xyz 25 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Kinda shows just how "decentralised" bluesky actually is if they can just ban her like that.

[–] EldritchFeminity@lemmy.blahaj.zone 25 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Stop making centralized websites sound so good... banning known harassers and grifters before they can hurt people.

Also, you'd see the exact same complaining if this had been a lemmy.world account. Nothing stopping her from making her own instance, but she won't because she doesn't understand how any of that works and it's too much effort when she can just complain about being censored for her beliefs (to harass minorities or whatever).

The centralized part of Bluesky is the node infrastructure that connects all the instances together. As I understand it, anybody can start their own instance, but they all run through Bluesky's lemmy.world equivalent. I've seen plenty of people from other instances, but it seems like just a way to host your account off the main platform as far as I can tell from using the official app.

[–] Mac@mander.xyz 8 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

You realistically cannot host your own Bluesky instance.

Yeah, it seems more like an analog to having your account hosted locally than anything else. Like running your own empty Lemmy instance just for your account instead of creating one on .world.

Supposedly, they plan to standardize the federation protocol and hand it off to a nonprofit so that anybody can create their own proper instance. Supposedly. The way it sounds like the infrastructure is set up makes it sound feasible, if not plausible, but I'm not gonna hold my breath on whether or not that actually happens.

[–] bizarroland@fedia.io 12 points 1 week ago

If you don't like it, just use the at proto protocol and make your own app.

Aside from that, it wasn't even her Main account that was banned. She was making multiple accounts,

And it was one of her sock puppet accounts that was banned.

Of course, after they realized she was making sock puppet accounts, they banned the main one also.

[–] OmegaLemmy@discuss.online 3 points 1 week ago

One instance app!

[–] Binette@lemmy.ml 23 points 1 week ago

Reminds me of how nick fuentes got banned as soon as he made a rednote account.

[–] Rivalarrival@lemmy.today 14 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Do we know what instance banned her?

[–] Rivalarrival@lemmy.today 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)
[–] RobotToaster@mander.xyz 11 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Those are just client nodes, the actual server is the relay and there's only one of those https://dustycloud.org/blog/how-decentralized-is-bluesky/

[–] Rivalarrival@lemmy.today 6 points 1 week ago

Thanks! I did not know this.

Off to make some space on my phone...

[–] qyron@sopuli.xyz 5 points 1 week ago

This one is epic.
