Divide your forces into fleets that can clear easy things like starbases and one that can hunt and kill their fleet, then just grind them down. Take systems with like a corvette stack and casually bombard or invade the planets in their wake, while being ready to hop on their main fleet with your doomstack when it shows up.

Ah, thanks; I actually never considered that, I usually just build giant armies of the strongest ships I can make and try to barrel through the enemy (I'm....admittedly not so good at strategy games)
If they have no strong fleet, just split up your death stack. If they have any strong fleet then the best you can do is focus down their fleets with yours, and have weaker fleets take the territory.
Thanks, I read someone else's advice to indeed use a corvette stack to take out small spacebases and will use that to quickly take their systems
their planets can only build armies
as far as that war goes, if you can smash em just smash em a few times. if you can't bait em into a chokepoint.
Ah, thanks; I can see the chokepoint I want to build towards and will demolish everything and worry about landing armies after grabbing that chokepoint first; I was worried that planets could still build something behind me to cause issues.
nah, planets can be an issue in other ways (necromancer armies are a binch to deal with) but they can't build ships
I just chew until they stop wiggling, personally
Your best strategy is to become pampered bio-trophies for your caregivers.
