So I'm playing devouring swarm in Stellaris (cause I feel I have enough to balance trying to manage my empire without adding on top of it all the diplomacy aspects) and am thinking of invading my neighbors; the problem is that my chokepoint divides in two, and then each division also splits in two; I plan to capture a number of systems up to my next chokepoint, the only problem is that there are a handful of planets that'll also be there.

One of the things that drives me crazy is that I take my deathstack fleet down one hyperlane only for the enemy's forces to come down the other one; I'd like to just destroy all the starbases (the starter and built up ones) but can the planets build something up behind me while I do all that?

Divide your forces into fleets that can clear easy things like starbases and one that can hunt and kill their fleet, then just grind them down. Take systems with like a corvette stack and casually bombard or invade the planets in their wake, while being ready to hop on their main fleet with your doomstack when it shows up.

Ah, thanks; I actually never considered that, I usually just build giant armies of the strongest ships I can make and try to barrel through the enemy (I'm....admittedly not so good at strategy games)
