Yeah I mean it’s got green lights on doors that are unlocked and red lights on ones that are locked so you can tell which you can go through without having to approach them. Been pretty standard in gaming for convenience for a loooong time.

The situation of the typhon breach on Talos happened but they discuss your decisions during the game, implying it was a just simulation of the event not you experiencing Morgan’s actual memory of what happened.

And Thousand Year Door was quite similar to the original. That’s how sequels generally work! You want the same gameplay with maybe some features added/expanded upon and a new story.

Halo 2 definitely is a “story game” as well. I guess he means games that are more narrative driven then gameplay focused? Like Uncharted or The Last of Us? Or like Telltale games or Heavy Rain maybe?

The Paper Mario 3 that was scrapped by Miyamoto because the gameplay was too similar to TTYD. You fool! That’s exactly what we wanted! And we never got a real RPG Paper Mario game again…
