Just played HoloCure...there's no main characters, just a bunch of vTubers...so if one of them is the main character, I'm basically just fighting some random eGirl. If it's a fight to the death, I'll buy a gun. If it's just a non-lethal fight by knock out. I'll watch some boxing videos on youtube and just do whatever they say. If weapons are allowed, I'll go buy some nunchucks.
I'm a pretty big guy. I can take on some random small egirl. If she happens to be professional fighter, I'm screwed. if it's actually the character in the game, i just gotta get that gun and shoot her like 10 times. They are very weak and you have to speed so much time dodging. They don't get strong until they level up each round. There's no one but be to fight, so they'll be at their weakest.
Good. They've been doing it for years already. It's machine learning. Having advanced AI do the tedious work for game development means game devs have more time to do other stuff and add more. It's a tool to make things easier. It can't do everything. It makes the process easier.
There's ethical debates to be had though. Like what is it using to learn from. Like...they probably shouldn't be using any generated textures or images or whatever in the final product. but keep in mind, game development includes concept art and and story boarding and stuff. It's all a huge process and there's a ton of work we never see. So having AI do a ton of that work will make game development not only easier, but faster.
like right now, I can use AI image generation to make hundreds of placeholder background images for a digital painting. It'll help to get a feel for what you want, the colors, the lighting etc. Then you can go in make your own background. So imagine a game dev team working on a shooter. They can get AI to generate some quit code to test something out as a place holder. They see how it works with other systems...like, maybe a quick item pick up system that might take an hour or so to code in. now it takes a second. There's room in this world for this tech. The AI hysteria should calm down...for now...there's no limit to how both evil and stupid companies are...
