Gaming underwent a lot of changes over the last two decades, to say the least. Does every other new title need to be an open world? Or necessarily have to integrate some sort of always-online multiplayer elements (Soulsborne comes to mind)? What would a fresh and new 'Metroid Prime' have to be like to you, in this day and age?

I hope in Prime 4 Samus will have the dynamism of Dread but I don't know how that could be implemented with the first person.

Anyway I also hope the next Prime won't be an open world game because the backtracking could be too dispersive in an open world maybe a world sivided in macro areas could be better

In the event of interplanetary travel being present, let me actually fly the ship.

Other than that I just want to see more of the Bounty Hunters from Hunters. Sylux is definitely going to have a big role, but it'd be cool to also see more of the other ones and learn more of them. Has Spire had any luck finding more of his people? Why does Noxus oppose the Federation? Did the "Ultimate Power" not being a real thing fuck over Trace in his rite of passage?

Nah let's keep space travel to sim games honestly. Too many games recently have gone the route of "fly your own ship!" and have gone down bad routes like Star Citizen and Star Field.

If you add flight into Metroid then they'll want to add that as a whole part of the game where now instead of running, rolling, and blasting as Samus you'll be flying the ship around pew pewing at Space Pirate ships.

It doesn’t need innovation I just want more Metroid prime. No need to add useless modern crap that nobody wants.

I agree. Personally, though, the game that most gave me Metroid Prime vibes (besides the mainline titles) was Subnautica. That made me think how and if Metroid itself should or will take some sort of inspiration from that.

I had the same feeling during Below Zero. Specifically:

  • The feelings of loneliness
  • Unlocking blueprints to upgrade equipment and movement capabilities
  • Exploring an alien world with abandoned research facilities (both recent and ancient)
