GTA V. I'd just put on a podcast or something and cruise around.

Then, things escalate because police, aka 'quote, Rockstar: No, the cops do NOT automatically know where you are' - chase you endlessly for shit you didn't even do. Then I turn the game off

I agree. Personally, though, the game that most gave me Metroid Prime vibes (besides the mainline titles) was Subnautica. That made me think how and if Metroid itself should or will take some sort of inspiration from that.

 

Gaming underwent a lot of changes over the last two decades, to say the least. Does every other new title need to be an open world? Or necessarily have to integrate some sort of always-online multiplayer elements (Soulsborne comes to mind)? What would a fresh and new 'Metroid Prime' have to be like to you, in this day and age?
