to be fair, 200 million lines in COBOL is the equivalent of 50 in any other language
honestly i don't think cobol is that bad, but maybe it's because i learned perl first

This can end in three ways:
- Realising how stupid the idea is, someone smile tly kills the project before it does any harm
- Realising how impossible the project is, the goalposts are moved until they end up just slapping a dogecoin logo on existing systems.
- Being incredibly stupid they actually produce some shitty system that doesn't work. Major economic disruption ensues.
