He has never used the word genocide, except to dismiss the charge of it as it would incrimate the entire US government. Yet is careful to not mention that fact, except he does admit it is wholly complicit in what's going on there.

I saw him answer that question by saying that he's against sanctions on principle, look at how much damage they're doing to Cuba etc. Unreal.
Even though he voted for sanctions on official bad guy countries like Russia and Venezuela.

But I believe that these new sanctions could endanger the very important nuclear agreement that was signed between the United States, its partners and Iran in 2015. That is not a risk worth taking, particularly at a time of heightened tension between Iran and Saudi Arabia and its allies.
I'm not finding any evidence that Sanders has ever voted for a sanction in a final bill. It kind of doesn't matter anyway, because the president just unilaterally imposes sanctions, it seems.
If he says he supports them in principle but opposes this instance, then the original comment where he says he opposes them on principle is false

Honestly at this point I think Bernie's currently vocal "supporters" are actually conservative Dems using him like a cudgel to guilt-trip and exploit progressive voters into moving to the right. Bernie doesn't seem to mind playing right into their strategy - maybe he doesn't know, maybe he doesn't care.
At the same time I don't think progressives are even a functional political bloc anymore which makes it all kind of funny. It's like the conservatives crossed the finish line and won the race 4 years ago, but they didn't realize it so they're still out there running all by themselves.

While it would have been funny if he had announced his unconditional support of the Al-Qassam brigades a week before the election, I guess we live in the real world where this happens instead. There shouldn't be any disappointment. We knew what his position was going to be.

Bernie has never acnowledged the term genocide wrt to the current situation. He knows it would lead to serious charges against just about every member of the Senate and Congress and he doesn't want to be "that guy" that gave the incriminating soundbite.
Serious charges? In what world? Every member of Senate, and every member of Congress could sign a letter explicitly saying they love genocide and establishing a minimum quota of children killed per week and there would be no charges. Who is going to charge them? The ICC (lol)?
