I don't know what the context of that GIF is... and I probably shouldn't want to... but I do.

[–] Evil_Shrubbery@lemm.ee 5 points 3 days ago

Shaking it for a new fur suit.

[–] Adderbox76@lemmy.ca 23 points 3 days ago

I low key want to know that racoon's skin care routine. Flawless.

Whatever their skin routine is, it's doing a decent job. You'd think trash pandas would be collecting blemishes.

[–] VelvetStorm@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago

Having your skin protected from the sun at all times really helps.

A long time ago my roommates and I shaved just the tip of our cat's tail, like the last two inches. It was absolutely hilarious.

People are going to crucify me for animal abuse but I swear the cat was totally cool with the process.

[–] southsamurai@sh.itjust.works 20 points 3 days ago

I mean, it's a dick move, but doesn't qualify as abuse imo. No harm would come from it by itself, and if the cat didn't object at all, it's not worth arguing about.

But my grandparents had to shave their cat's tail for a few years. He would suck on it, and in the process pull out hairs, which would end up with sores where they had been pulled. So the vet said to keep it shaved down, if the cat would tolerate it. The cat did, and no more issues.

[–] Wizard_Pope@lemmy.world 14 points 3 days ago

I mean if you only fid it once and the cat was not hurt by it I personally would not call that abuse. Sure you did it for no reason but the cat did not really suffer for it.

Did he give you a dirty look after he saw the result?

[–] MutilationWave@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago (1 children)

She didn't care at all but it brought everyone who visited much amusement.

[–] CanadianCarl@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 days ago

That sounds hilarious. I don't see how that is abuse.

[–] Evil_Shrubbery@lemm.ee 25 points 3 days ago

Remarkably racoon shaped actually.

[–] MudMan@fedia.io 34 points 4 days ago

You can't just show pictures of me in the bathroom without permission. You'll be hearing from my lawyers.

[–] PunchingWood@lemmy.world 34 points 4 days ago

That's just a raccoon in a spandex. You can't fool me!

I'm gonna need some context for this. Why is Patrick Stewart dressed like a bard?

[–] Reverendender@sh.itjust.works 16 points 3 days ago (2 children)
[–] jpreston2005@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

Such a hilarious show, Extras was

[–] Decoy321@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Oh wow, that's a blast from the past! Thanks for linking it!

[–] RootBeerGuy@discuss.tchncs.de 12 points 3 days ago

You're in for a treat

[–] dream_weasel@sh.itjust.works 20 points 4 days ago

That is a MOSTLY shaved raccoon.

[–] OldWoodFrame@lemm.ee 17 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Once I saw a raccoon poop and I was like "no way raccoons poop that big" but this does tell another story.

[–] CoffeeJunkie@lemmy.world 11 points 4 days ago

Oh, they do. It has a distinctive, raggedy kind of look to the turds, doesn't it? Filled with all kinds of potential for disease.

[–] Reverendender@sh.itjust.works 22 points 4 days ago

Thanks, I hate it!

[–] Annoyed_Crabby@monyet.cc 20 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Looks just like a naked old man's bottom.

[–] breakingcups@lemmy.world 14 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I'd imagine an old man bottom to be more hairy and wrinkly though.

Tell JD Vance that's a cat about to be dry rubbed.

[–] BeMoreCareful@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago

I know googly eyes are not funny anymore but here they would've been

[–] Waraugh@lemmy.dbzer0.com 10 points 4 days ago

I know googly eyes are not funny anymore…

What?! That’s not allowed

[–] aodhsishaj@lemmy.world 17 points 4 days ago

But....why?

[–] GenderNeutralBro@lemmy.sdf.org 13 points 4 days ago (3 children)

Was there some medical reason for this? Seems too extensive to have been done for surgery.

[–] ickplant@lemmy.world 10 points 4 days ago

I got this off Instagram - it was not explained why the raccoon was shaved, but it showed him growing the fur back in later videos.

[–] scutiger@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago

It's just a little thing called style, perhaps you've heard of it?

[–] Acklavidian@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago

Looks more like a white pet onesie.

[–] dumbass@leminal.space 14 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (1 children)

Nope, too smooth, way too smooth.

Why in the fuck would you ever do this?

Poor raccoon.

[–] NaibofTabr@infosec.pub 19 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Looks like it's in an animal care facility of some kind. My guess is that it had some crud in its fur that they couldn't wash out easily, or maybe a pest infestation like lice.

I'm calling the police.

[–] Rozauhtuno@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 4 days ago (1 children)

They were so worried weather they could, that they didn't consider whether they should.

[–] Agrivar@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago

I appreciate that you couldn't decide which version of whether was appropriate so you tried both.

[–] InternetCitizen2@lemmy.world 6 points 4 days ago

Good shave.

[–] atrielienz@lemmy.world 6 points 4 days ago

I wish you had not. Nobody should be cursed with this knowledge.

[–] GeorgimusPrime@lemmy.world 5 points 4 days ago

Minus the tail (or maybe not) this resembles a famous politician.
