Does anyone else remember the joy of going to a state fair, or local games market/festival/convention to gave their PS/2 modded to play international games? Anyone remember region locking?

Fun times.

I wonder if Russia understands that the crazed Republican supporters they've cultivated to slightly favor Russia with this candidate (Trump) are just as likely (if not more) to be the same ones demanding Nuclear War with Russia next election season, or the one after it.

That's the problem with trying to inject chaos into the world's current super power, it might roll over and crush you whilst chaotically flailing sometime later. That's the nature of chaos.

What you actually want is a friendly calm America, that lets you go about your own business. Not a chaotic America run by wildcards, sycophants, and morality free billionaires.

The Ferengi and the Furious was right there. Also the Phasers and the Furious, The Figures and the Furious, and The Fast and the Field Generators.

They're probably concerned their phones might explode. Turns out these questionable tactics mught have downstream effects.

JD Vance was appointed on Peter Thiel's recommendation, beating out the candidate Rupert Murdoch was suggesting.

I believe Vance worked at Thiel's Venture Capital company named Narya (a Tolkien reference, as that's Thiel's company naming preference).

But yeah, Trump was presented with two options from the right wing elite billionaires he serves. So that's how that worked.

I don't think it's alive, I think it's talking to its self. They're making a Chinese whisper machine, and it will remain so until it has embodiment, subjective and changing goals, and a will of it's own.

That's part of intelligence, but it's still a reverse engineering take on things.

In actuality we have intelligence because our threat detection and social protection/survival goals became abstract enough for self-awareness to occur.

EDIT: Telephone game is what I meant.

No dumb ass, nor did I ever say that by pointing out that the Black Panthers were Maoist in their food distribution program (see their Wikipedia page for details).

That's just how far I've given up on reformist Capitalism and establishment corruption.

...but also on well meaning idealism that has little meaningful to offer.

You know what would be great, an honest, true, and transparent political system, and maximum wealth limits.

...like we can express good intentions and desires all day. That's cool, but there are hard problems in the way, and at some point utopianism is a distraction from realism and genuine analysis of what those hard problems are.
