Breadtube if it didn't suck.

Post videos you genuinely enjoy and want to share, duh. Celebrate the diversity of interests shared by chapochatters by posting a deep dive into Venetian kelp farming, I dunno. Also media criticism, bite-sized versions of left-wing theory, all the stuff you expected. But I am curious about that kelp farming thing now that you mentioned it.

Low effort / spam videos might be removed, especially weeb content.

There is a cytube that you can paste videos into and watch with whoever happens to be around. It's open submission unless there's something important to commandeer it with at the time.

A weekly watch party happens every Saturday (Sunday down under), with video nominations Saturday-Monday, voting Monday-Thursday. See the pin for whatever stage it's currently in.

Cool that a Democratic rep can just admit this now when trying to get rid of Biden

Democrats in 2016/2020: Bernie is too old (he was 75/79 and sharp as a tack)

Democrats in 2024: suck it up and vote for Biden (he's 81 and has lost the plot)

Also Bernie is only 1 year older than Biden

[–] crusa187@lemmy.ml 39 points 4 months ago

Bernie still got it in ‘24, but you can’t blame him for not wanting the rug pull, again.

The lengths the establishment will go to block universal health care. I don't think Medicare For All would have passed even if Bernie won, but it would have forced every Dem in Congress to go on the record and have to explain to their constituents why they voted against it.

He probably LOVES his Biden in law

Sanders was the compromise and look where rejecting it has lead you.

Now the empire is collapsing around you and a senile old man is in charge

[–] Thallo@hexbear.net 36 points 4 months ago (1 children)

If the US converted to social democracy and spread the spoils of empire evenly across the populace, the empire would probably last like 1000 more years, but the capital class is too stupid and short sighted

[–] Spongebobsquarejuche@hexbear.net 22 points 4 months ago

How does that make line go up NOW?

[–] rootsbreadandmakka@hexbear.net 58 points 4 months ago

Oh wow look who has been proven right yet again.

[–] Kestrel@hexbear.net 55 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Talking about Bernie doing well after Nevada in '16 he says

People said this isn't gonna work

Which people, my guy?

cap-think

I found a YouTube link in your comment. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:

So LIB can finally admit the truth your years later

[–] NapoleonBlownApart@hexbear.net 24 points 4 months ago (1 children)

No apologies from all the libs that said we were all secret Russians for voting Bernie and that it was a totally fair primary.

Can't wait to get blamed for trump winning again. Except I dont think anyone is going to give a flying fuck about the scolding this time. We have all lived through a trump administration and there are ample examples of Biden being the same or worse on trumpian policy.

I really hope this destroys the DNC

I really hope this destroys the DNC

inshallah

[–] Feinsteins_Ghost@hexbear.net 48 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Here’s how Bernie can still, you know.

[–] RedundantClam@hexbear.net 41 points 4 months ago

You mean that everyone dropping out and endorsing Biden right before Super Tuesday, except the one candidate that actually ate into Bernie's base, wasn't a totally organic event?

[–] D61@hexbear.net 33 points 4 months ago

brace-watching

Dear, Mr. Representative Adam Smith,

You may want to avoid flying on small private aircraft for the foreseeable future.

[–] WhatDoYouMeanPodcast@hexbear.net 33 points 4 months ago (1 children)

You would have had to waterboard that shit out of me, holy shit. This admission feels more movement inducing than anything that could be leaked about JFK.

[–] HelltakerHomosexual@hexbear.net 14 points 4 months ago (1 children)

i mean Malcom X's family in the 90s won a lawsuit against the government confirming that the FBI killed him and like no one talks about it

there was the time the USA experimented on babies by irradiating them and seeing what happens

The USA used Japanese troops to fight the Chinese Communists during the Chinese civil war

the eastern bloc wasn't overthrown by popular uprising, it was CIA backed military coups, Gorbachev being a stupid cuck, and debt pressure

one third of the vehicles used in the nazi invasion of france were made by Ford

americans kept gays, communists, and trans people locked in the concentration camps after ww2

Italy was going communist until the USA pulled out all the stops to enable fascists to crack down on them

[–] WhatDoYouMeanPodcast@hexbear.net 4 points 4 months ago

Yeah, the most propagandized people on Earth really let a whole eldritch monster's worth of horror slip by undetected and still did nothing with an angry deity's worth of punishment that directly affected them. I suppose one more flagrant, unfair advantage taken against a record breaking-ly popular, party crossing candidate is just a drop in the bucket.

[–] englislanguage@lemmy.sdf.org 28 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (2 children)

Same for Hillary Clinton in 2016, right?

[–] Sunforged@lemmy.ml 49 points 4 months ago

Nah Hillary 2016 was locked into place as soon as she endorsed Obama for the secretary of state position. Surely 8 years was enough time for voters to forget what an awful campaigner she is.

[–] JamesConeZone@hexbear.net 16 points 4 months ago

bah gawd that's debbie wasserman schultz's music

[–] NapoleonBlownApart@hexbear.net 26 points 4 months ago

Also, like... That's just not true. Biden's campaign was getting smoked by everyone until "something" happened.

[–] emizeko@hexbear.net 21 points 4 months ago (2 children)

anyone know this representative's name?

[–] Leon_Grotsky@hexbear.net 21 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Adam Smith (D) Washington

They put his name on the chyron @ ~00:24

[–] emizeko@hexbear.net 17 points 4 months ago (1 children)
[–] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 14 points 4 months ago

Albert Einstein?

[–] peeonyou@hexbear.net 18 points 4 months ago (1 children)

which is only true because Bernie bent the fuck over and rolled out the red carpet for him on command

i dunno what kind of threats they make to keep these politicians in line but i can only hope it's super fucking awful in this case

[–] Florn@hexbear.net 15 points 4 months ago (1 children)

It was just at the start of covid. The threat there was the media blaming him for forcing people to the polls during a pandemic.

[–] invo_rt@hexbear.net 15 points 4 months ago (1 children)

I still remember the CDC telling people not to attend large gatherings, Sanders asking for the primary to be delayed, and Brandon/DNC giving him a "yeah that's gonna be a no from me" and sending people to the polls.

[–] Florn@hexbear.net 12 points 4 months ago

Sanders should have called their bluff, his younger base was less at risk from the virus

[–] GarbageShoot@hexbear.net 8 points 4 months ago

This recontextualized my understanding of that primary an embarrassingly large amount. It makes perfect sense that they'd be trying to avoid having the lich be Their Guy, fail with all the more living candidates vs Bernie, and circle back to Biden as a last resort short of using the heart attack gun ~~twice in a row~~
