Dawg cause I don’t want someone thinking I’m calling them a dog

To learn about xylem and phloem in biology we were made to stand in a circle, split into two groups (xylem and phloem) and act out the functions of xylem and phloem. I don’t remember exactly what we had to do, I just remember there was a lot of hand-waving and squatting

It’s over, for I have depicted you as the screaming feline and myself as the smirking chimp

Like a moment that seemed insignificant and unimportant at the time, but looking back was in fact a pivotal moment in pushing you towards radicalization.

For me probably being introduced to Guitar Hero at my friend's house in like summer 2007. At the time it was just another day, but looking back I ended up falling in love with those games, I ended up being introduced to The Ramones and even more importantly the Dead Kennedys through them, which caused me to get into punk music and resulted in me adopting very critical attitudes towards larger American society, attitudes which later grew into anarchism and then Marxism

I can never tell if people like this are intentionally misreading the question, weird nerds who are genuinely just taking the question at its most literal meaning, or just idiots who can’t wrap their heads around what is being asked.

I’m absolutely sure this guy is intentionally misreading the question to make some stupid racist point, but with others sometimes I’m not so sure

Oatmeal

Tahini (you can dip your pita in there)

Beans, canned or dried if you’re able to cook. Lentils also.

Chia seeds - some bags say to refrigerate them but as long as you’re not letting them sit there for a long time you’ll be fine. Same goes for tahini actually.

Nuts and seeds

Could also get other breads or maybe corn tortillas or something

Edit: I suppose by no heating element you mean you can’t cook. So with the oats you’d probably have to get old fashioned oats and do overnight oats or something just using water. Canned beans don’t need to be cooked so you can use those.

Edit 2: ugh I actually don’t know if the overnight oats would work. Everyone I know who makes them uses a fridge. You can eat old fashioned oats “raw” though, since they’re not actually raw but they’ve been steamed. A little weird though. Though you could make a cereal with them or something, like muesli. Actually they sell packaged muesli in the store, that might be a good thing to try, and you could get oats that way. I love getting a box of Alpen.

I agree with you and I’ll take it one step further - I don’t like most grunge.

I think the problem for me is grunge takes a lot of influence from hard rock and heavy metal, two genres I’ve never been big on. A lot of grunge bands are just too close to hard rock for me. I absolutely hear it in Eddie Vedder’s vocals. Maybe it’s something similar for you. You might try listening to some Pearl Jam precursors - Green River is a grunge band I really like. Temple of the Dog I never really listened to but they have that one cool song Hunger Strike. There’s also Mother Love Bone but I’ve never really listened to them.

You may also be reacting to the slew of derivative Pearl Jam copycats that popped up in the wake of the grunge explosion. Post-grunge is a genre that’s generally looked down upon, and I think a lot of those guys copied a lot from Eddie Vedder’s vocal style. It might be a case of you being more familiar with the derivative knock-off bands that Pearl Jam spawned, and only being able to hear those bands when you listen to Pearl Jam.

Me, the One True Leftist

I think the obvious answers are probably Huey Newton, Fred Hampton or Eugene Debs.

It wouldn't be communist, but I think Nat Turner or John Brown's revolts succeeding and establishing some sort of state would put us on a better path than we're on right now

tbh I think people here take voting too seriously, sometimes it feels like electoralism brain but the other way around, as if not voting makes any sort of difference. We're getting Kamala or Trump either way, there's no possible way your vote or non-vote is going to have any effect on policy towards Israel/Palestine. I think you're fine.

Sanskrit is a different language, I’m not over here upset that kids can’t read latin, I’m upset that kids can’t read English

I don’t use cursive at all, but something about this is just very sad. Kids can’t read cursive anymore? Idk, that doesn’t really bode well

The one I was using (fmovies) seems to have shut down, and all the ones that I have tried since seem to be down half the time. They'll go down right in the middle of my movie, and then won't be back up for at least another day. It takes me like 3 days to watch a movie.

Contentious issue I know, but recently I’ve encountered a number of people who believe that Ohio (and sometimes Indiana and Michigan) is not truly part of the Midwest. Which to me is preposterous since I’ve always considered Ohio the most quintessentially Midwestern state. Midwest to me has always been very nearly synonymous with rust belt, but it seems there are a fair number of people who place the Midwest more in what I’d call the Great Plains, or Greater Minnesota. So I’m wondering where do you all place the Midwest.

It's never been more joever biden-harbinger

I always wash my fruit before I eat it when I buy it fresh. Recently I've been buying frozen bluberries and honestly I sort of like just eating them straight out of the bag (after letting them sit out for a little bit). But I'm wondering - should I be washing the berries before I eat them? If they were fresh I'd absolutely wash them but I'm unsure if this is necessary for frozen.
