people love their symbolic bullshit like, "yeah it would be nice to see the president go to the site" what that really means is it would be nice for the airspace to be cut off and traffic to be disrupted and flights to be delayed and the investigation slowed to a crawl while the security detail disrupts everything so that a guy can look around for a few minutes and be like, "yup, some aircraft sure did crash here!"

Part of me wonders if it would bring some comfort to the families of some victims who would like to see their tragedy given some weight and importance by someone as important as the President. But it's Trump, so we know he'd barely be able to pretend he gave a shit.

Very nice but the "flight attendants" you have to call them flight attendants now because you get in trouble if you call them a stewardess but that used to be the name of the job! Lol I've spent a lot of time trying to like trace down the threads of his dialogue because it's so shockingly chaotic

This really is amazing. The only other person who I've seen do it so well is the guy who does the Trump impressions on Saturday Night Live nowadays, or whoever writes for him at least, if he doesn't do it himself.
"Here, you can have a coupon to any Trump tower; 20% discount, the best discount, everyone says so. We got a guy here who says he got a 15% discount, woulda killed for a 20% discount; the best towers, no one builds 'em like I do, but we got the radical left trying to...." (and then this goes on for another ten minutes and somehow ends on an entirely different topic than it started)
Family members awkwardly shuffling their feet wondering if they're still supposed to be standing there or not. Looking around confused while aides shrug back at them just off camera.
i totally get that but a competent leader could pull that off without gumming up the investigation by symbolically visiting it
