Snitches get stitches
But also, if this is the guy, the moment they release his name it's gonna become memorialized
A GoFundMe for legal defense would break the interenet, and I gotta feel like this guy knows that...
Also, for anyone wondering why he'd ditch a gun and save a suppressor, it's because suppressors are federally registered. In many states a gun can show up and be connected to a crime, and they can just say it was sold to someone and they do t remember/know the buyers name.
A silencer has accountability and would need a paper trail showing a transfer of ownership.
Edit:
Apparently other sources say he had the fun too:

But still, it's crazy we dont have a federal gun registry and not all states have them either.
I don't have a wealth of gun knowledge, but I read at least one report right after the shooting naming the type of pistol and why suspect chose it (because it had a long barrel that worked as a suppressor without having to attach/buy one). It even stated that because of the obscurity of the pistol it would 1) narrow down the amount of people owning one 2) would likely be someone with a good knowledge of firearms and well thoughout plan.
There's the "Welrod" which is WW2 era and at least one modern replica produced today.
Those are designed to be as quite as possible, and require each round to be manually loaded by rotating the back of the gun. Like, its comparable maybe even quieter than shutting a car door.
But it definitely wasn't what was used in the video.
Also, I just saw another article that says he still had the gun too.

So, slightly conflicting info from different sources on what he had
This isn't the same article (it was one probably linked here at some point) but here is one saying it may have been a veterinary pistol.
Edit victim of autocorrect =(
Yeah, that guy just had no idea what he was talking about...
Vets rarely use gunpowder pistols, at most they use these weird pistols that require the barrel being removed to load each round, and only like a 3 inch barrel max, often barely longer than the bullet even. One always gets posted in gun deal communities as a joke for like $99.99
I 100% see reading that article and assuming he knew what he was talking about tho.
But especially with the NYPD, a lot of captains are fucking idiots and wildly corrupt, Eric Adams was one too. They don't rise they the ranks by being good cops, they make captain by being corrupt.
It was likely a hand made gun. Like a 3d printed thing.
Either way, the dude should have been more careful and at least buried the evidence somewhere.
We should all be taking notes on how they found him, and put that in a checklist.
Some employee at McDonald's recognized him and ratted him out. Class traitor.
To be fair, that worker probably did not know the scope of the Situation
Why?
That still leaves a substantial paper trail, the real gangsta move is always the OG move. Just buy one used from a "private seller" without even an ID let alone a background check.
Like, if you think building a p80 would be less risk, you have no idea how easy it is to buy a gun without a background check in America...
How do you find a person who sells guns illegally? I don’t think that’s as easy as you think
It's not illegal...
If I want to sell a gun. I can sell it to a person I see walking down the street without even asking what their name is. If you've ever walked by a gunshow parking lot, that's something that actually happens.
They could have just gotten out of 40 years of prison, unless I explicitly know they can't own a gun, I literally and legally can't break any laws by selling them one.
Which is why lots of "private seller" don't ask names.
If you don't want to wait on a gun show, lots of online websites exist to facilitate private sales.
I'm not saying it should be like this, I'm saying this is currently American law.
And there are a metric shit ton of loopholes, that no one seems interested in closing.
Walking around a gun show to find someone selling guns for cash out of their trunk seems like a really good way to meet a cop lol
Again, it's 100% legal... So not sure why you'd worry about meeting a cop
I dunno, it doesn't feel like me explaining anything has had any effect. I'm sorry I couldn't explain this better.
I guess my state is pretty strict. All sales for any reason go through a licensed dealer.
Yes, this is what the highly credible NYPD was claiming. However, the B&T requires the user to twist the rear to lock and unlock the action when cycling. This motion is not visible in the assassination video. Also, there would be no purpose in slapping the back of the slide to ensure it's in battery, as is done in the same video.
But I don't want the gubernment to have a registry showing my five guns that I constantly describe in detail to everyone and photograph regularly for lib-owning Christmas cards on social media. If there were a registry, they could use that information to send more of their government-manned guns against me, a single person with fewer hands than I have guns. Can't you see that this unreasonably risky lapse in information is all about MY safety???
Fixed that for you.
I appreciate your assistance! Don't forget Facebook, though. Gotta upset the nieces and nephews and make the siblings ask "what's wrong with them? They weren't like this when we were kids"
