The international legion is made up of people from around the world, not just the US. It's not under US command. US civilians can act as they wish. Their actions are not the actions of their country.

The story you link is Biden relaxing US corporations taking up supply and support contracts. The article even says that these organisations will NOT be fighting, yet you willfully misinterpret it.

The USA, the country, is not in Ukraine.

Some of our railway routes are the oldest in the world. Tunnels and bridges weren't built with the consideration of overhead electrification. So what do you do?

Electrify the parts you can and have trains that can run without external supply for the bits you can't electrify.

I think it comes down to how it's used.

An LLM model is nothing unless it's used to process some other things. It does something. It predicts the likeliness of words following a sequence of other words. It has no other purpose. It can't take the model, analyse it in a different way and extract different conclusions. It is singular in function. It is a program.

Data has no function. It is just data.

Is Maxine code "code"? And I don't mean assembler, I mean the binary stream read by the processor.

I'd say yes. People have programmed it. It's where the verb "to code" comes from.

These models are no different. They are binary streams that encode a function, a program, into a form that can be interpreted by a machine. Yes, a computer generated the code, but that's nothing new.

The dependency was massively reduced just in 2022 post invasion, but you can't just go cold turkey.

AI isn't code

Yes it is. It defines a function from input to output. It's not x86 or Arm code. It's code that runs on a different type of machine. It's a type of code that you may not be able to read, but it's still code.

The same number of Americans chose him this time as last time. What changed is that 13M Americans stayed at home rather than vote for Harris instead of Biden.

The Americans aren't in the war. They're just dealing in arms.

Don't need a degree, but computer programming is fundamentally logic and algorithms. You need to have internalise reasoning logically. In some ways critical thinking is closer to programming than trig is.

So how will you know if he changes anything?

The US isn't in anything right now. It's deployed (it always is), but not in active hostilities.

(Unless I'm missing something in Central or South America)

Honestly. No country should have the military spending that the US does. It's too much power in one place. I understand the cold war made it necessary though.
