He sounded so pathetic trying to rebut with that.

I was gonna make a joke that it's also an idea that's on so many street corners and coffee cups. However after googling I found out that it's a siren on the Starbucks logo and not a mermaid. My joke fails on both humour and fact.

No lie, when I saw the ghosts in FF7: Remake or whatever ... I forced myself to finish the game and there's no way I'm likely to play any of the sequels.

Also, like, this is just me but I got into PlayStation games fairly late. I got a PS5 and I played God of War 4 and was gobsmacked about how good that game played and looked. When I played FF7: Remake, the game itself looked amazing and a younger me would have loved seeing those graphics. However, I felt the cinematics and storyline were SO lackluster. I think after seeing God of War 4 cinematics, the FF7: Remake ones felt so dated ...

Btw, I actually enjoyed FF15, I know it's like unfinished with drama and all that but I really did like playing that game.

Anyone who thinks this is just a Trump thing is insane. It doesn't end with him. The entire system needs to be purged of this corruption.

Some people say "hack yourself" ... create a TODO list in anyway you like. First thing on that list is to "create a list" and cross that off after you've listed some items.

Keep the items small and doable. Going outside or watch a movie isn't a "big" item but it's worth on this list damnit!

Don't be down on yourself for any reason about doing nothing on the list. If you are, recognize that you did that, forgive yourself for feeling that way and try again. Feel free to throw out items and put even simpler tasks on it, if you can.

Doesn't work for everyone, but it does work for some.

I convinced my parent company like 10 years ago to stop the push to Silverlight. We were a .NET shop so it made certain sense and we were basically writing apps, but I had to tell them that MS was killing it and it was better to stick to web apps.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_cat_strategy

Feels like this...

There is one thing that is absolutely certain about throwing a dead cat on the dining room table – and I don't mean that people will be outraged, alarmed, disgusted. That is true, but irrelevant. The key point, says my Australian friend, is that everyone will shout, "Jeez, mate, there’s a dead cat on the table!" In other words, they will be talking about the dead cat – the thing you want them to talk about – and they will not be talking about the issue that has been causing you so much grief.[1]

I think on the third rewatch I noticed that the first line of the diary had a different meaning:

::: spoiler !"We were two young men at the start of a great career. Two young men devoted to an illusion. Two young men who never intended to hurt anyone." :::

I don't think we could have made the progress with smoking in the US now like we did back then. Would have turned into a partisan issue about freedoms and all that.

It's a story from April, I tried seeing if it was posted before, however it's the story about how the advertising and finance team beat the search team into submission by ousting the core person protecting it to pursue "growth" and "revenue" at all costs.

Just popped up in my feed. I loved Starship Troopers as a kid, not knowing the satire underneath. Anyways, it's a nice interview.
