It's true. I think he has some good ideas. See, I don't judge someone just based on their party. I base it on what they do and their integrity. I'm a socialist, but I still think Vivek has some good ideas.

Thanks!

Should be interesting seeing how this works out. Lots of people have said they were gonna do things like this. Now it looks someone actually is. I have no clue what's going to happen!

I'm a fan of him too. Very smart guy. Believes in hard work. And he worked hard for what he as. Overall, I think he's a great guy.

Agreed. I like Vivek, but he can do better than be on some advisory committee.

I like Bill Gates.

Thanks, amiko!

And things are about to get way more weird.

Part of what you have to put up with if you want decentralization though. I'm fine with the trade-off.

Right? I just figured eyelashes to be something that helps keep stuff out of the eyes. Had no idea it has a purposeful microstructure.

Actually I don't think he "wonders" why he gets banned at all. He's just saying that he is. I mean, you sorta knew how he was before ya jumped in! lol

Meh, I DO get along with people, and I still get banned from everywhere. Most places are huge echo-chambers that despise anyone with a difference in opinion.

I just have multiple accounts (even here on Lemmy), and keep doing what I'm doing.

I just view it as a fun game. You can't be silenced if you just keep on talking. :)

Thank you! That's actually a valid viewpoint. It's a large school, with a large HR department. So I was probably making this more personal than it really is.

Okay, so it was a pretty shitty thing to do. And it felt even worse because the boss at the school (an elementary school) worked really hard to get me hired there.

She was amazing. She actually "stole" me from another school and even traded one of her employees for me. She worked with the principal at my old school to make the transfer happen.

But through all of it, I never mentioned my plans to retire early and start collecting my state pension.

About three months before I retired, I had a mid-year review. Instead of being upfront about my plans to leave, I just nodded along and talked about how much I loved the job.

I got the raise. Then I submitted my retirement paperwork. I only worked there for one year.

To avoid the awkward conversation, I did all the retirement stuff while she was on vacation. That way, I didn’t have to face her directly about it.

I do feel kind of bad about how I handled it.

But at the same time, I’m 55 years old now. I’ve put in my time, and I’m tired of answering to bosses—even ones I genuinely like.

Heck, I don't even like answering to Lemmy admins, so I have multiple accounts across multiple instances. I guess I hate having to follow rules, workplace or hobby. lol

And honestly, being a teacher assistant isn’t a role that’s hard to fill, so it's not like I screwed the shool over or anything.

I do feel guilty, but not so guilty that I regret it.

Because not having to work for the rest of my life is awesome.
