20 year old me just got a little bit excited. 40-odd year old me is sad that he's never going to fit back into his leather trench coat.

I didn't mind the Preludes trilogy. In fact, there's a scene in House Harkonnen (I think) which has stuck in my mind and made me vow to destroy any Harkonnen I ever meet. The Denis Villeneuve films could do with that sort of scene as currently I don't despise the Harkonnens in his adaptation the way I feel I should.

The Legends trilogy I managed to get through by sheer determination, but the rot was setting in and I only managed half of the first sequels book before giving up.

Bearing in mind that I didn't really think too highly of Heretics and Chapterhouse, but I haven't given them a re-read for many many years.

You're not wrong, that grass is far too green.

I usually hate pre-ordering anything after learning my lesson with No Man's Land, but Hellraiser is my no. 1 horror film. So that's happening.

Ghost in Leeds 2019 was amazing. The crowd made it even better. There were no gatekeepers, just an audience of lovely people who loved that you loved the band that they love.

At home.

DeLonghi BTC long and unadulterated. I don't have a favourite bean as I like variety. Followed swiftly by another before the DeLonghi switches off.

On the ship (for that is where I work) French Press, very coarse, something citrusy like Ethiopian Yirg. Left to stew for about 10 to 15 minutes.

I want to change out my DeLonghi for a Sage. It'll happen someday.

I moved into a new build property just before winter. ASHP, hot water tank, solar panels and under floor heating. There were some teething problems with a frozen pipe, but that was due to an imbalanced feedback valve. Since that was solved I've had no problem with the system.

Ask me for an update after this winter and the system is a year old.

I'll have a tin of spam, a tin of beans and wash that bad boy down with a can of McEwan's Export.

We made it... and we can break it just as easily!

I do a similar thing but with arborio rice and no saffron. Delish.

Applecross Pass. I attempted to avoid a sheep and crashed my Tiger 1050 just before turning onto that road about 5 years ago.

Living in the North of Scotland and listening to people referring to anywhere north of Watford Gap as "The North" will always elicit a raised eyebrow from me.

Oh my sweet southern children, what do you know of the true north? Where the sun hides it's face for weeks at a time...
