Biggest blocker I get for doing this is the family plan... There's at least one out two in the household who are watching Netflix to mean we keep it, and I don't want to downgrade as they take away the HD streams... That's my biggest peeve, HD/4K should be standard, not a premium (yes I know, it's more data but we're not in the 90's anymore.

It has pushed a lot of people back to piracy, what did these money grabbing schmucks think would happen

A fair point, first flat not suitable to children (1 bed), 2nd house too small for two, but subsequent moves have indeed been a choice (and I did get screwed by endowments). I have no regrets, I live in a fab house I love, nice neighbours, lovely area, fair amount of equity but I sure wish I could clear the mortgage ๐Ÿ˜ Congrats on finding and affording the forever house, that's the dream.

The difference is (assuming you can get a mortgage, which in this day and age is ridiculous) at least you'll partly own the house as you pay it off unlike renting where you own nothing...ever.

Also I'm still paying a mortgage like 35 years so far, because you'll want to move up the ladder which means remortgaging again and again, so don't get kidded by the older people finishing their mortgage after 25 years.

that is very true

Got to say the fact there are no backup codes and you can reset your password and disable 2FA without confirming it's you by using your 2FA makes this protection pretty poor

Ubuntu. I've used Windows since v1 (yeah I'm an oldie), played with Linux on raspberry pi's etc. but had to use Ubuntu when I joined a digital team and over time switched back to windows less and less to now it's just for odd gaming.

Not only the hassle of too many competing services, it's the fact the buggers drop things all the time. Went to rewatch Enders Game the other night after reading the book and could I find it on any of the services I pay for? Nope (it used to be there), they wanted more money for it. Fk you, off to real-debrid, it's like they want to force us back again.

For git and working with a mix of master and main default branch repos my favourite is gsm='git switch $(git_main_branch)' to switch back to main/master

At work they had to put signs up to tell all the Indian workers who came to the UK not to do this as they were always breaking the loo seats! Better to get a step for your feet and get those angles better aligned.

I had to clear all memory (not just the cache) then relogin. That sorted it. But I've since moved to Connect
