Prey 2, the sequel to the original Prey. Dont get me wrong, I love Arkane Studios' entry from 2017, but I still think back on Prey 2's teaser and gameplay footage. I feel in love with the designs, story concepts, and gameplay pretty much instantly, also "Rusty Cage" is just a great song to pair it too lol.

Which games are the worst offenders for letting you upgrade a character/inventory only to lose it all part way through the game. in c/gaming@level-up.zone

Persona 3, without spoiling too much, has a character that will join your party only for them to eventually be removed, and since none active party members gain no exp, you're essentially wasting time with said character. Which blows because they're a fun character imo, and frustrated me a bit lol.
