For sure, some events would not be as spectacular to watch. They're still fascinating to think about though.

Standing at Runnymede imagining how it might have happened, and then considering the legacy and impact it had in bringing me back to the spot hundreds of years later.

Hard to say for sure but some things might actually be more fun just to ponder over.

Does it matter if those machines are an hour out for 6 months? Why not just keep them on UTC as a rule?

On these kinds of roads that go across Australia, are they well maintained? I'm guessing it's not like a highway the whole way. Are there frequent enough towns, petrol stations etc.? How easily can you end up stranded in the middle of nowhere?

ISO8601 is the true path, my friend. Now you can still have your pie and eat it without accepting the silly North American date format.
