Data holding up the literal entirety of TNG on his shoulders. Straining under the weight of all the other crap, bringing joy to it.

Here's a list of tons of leftist movies.
Is it the one with the scantily dressed people that want to execute Wesley?
nope! skipped that one because it seemed dumb
It asks the question "What if God also wrote the rules for your planet wide HOA"
Never skip a dumb episode. Dumb and bad episodes are a crucial aspect of trek
sure but it's 200 episodes. i watch them in the background while doing shit but even so that's so much tv to get through. i'm watching most episodes going forwards though, i was pretty strict when dropping episodes season 1 because it's so hated
Code of Honor is worth skipping. The rest, you'd be surprised how not bad they are if you pay attention to them. They're bad by tng standards but a lot do have cool stuff going on. Ds9 is the best one but there's a lot to enjoy and the worse early episodes hit better if you haven't seen the show on all cylinders. Measure of a Man will be the first hit of that
nah, i watched like half of them the whole way through and they were mostly fine but like, i'm totally fine skipping some episodes that are at best fine. 178 episodes is so many, especially when i am then going to watch deep space nine which is just as long. i'm going to watch more going forwards, only skip if an episode is truly intolerable to me, but still
i am going to watch every episode of every gundam (maybe except seed and seed destiny) within my lifespan, i cannot make that kind of commitment to another scifi megafranchise rn
It is very dumb but also funny
well im not going back for it there are like 200 episodes and i don't feel like watching all of them
Lmao I wouldn't bother going back for it, it's not worth it unless you like to laugh at the cheesy badness
That's a fun one though
Does Riker have a beard? It’s probably good because Riker has a beard.
If you haven't seen Deep Space 9, that would be the next series I'd recommend.
Strange New Worlds is excellent as well, but definitely a different vibe.
i am watching tng so i can watch ds9 with the proper context because i have a diseased mind
That's smart mind. TNG is baseline Star Trek for most of the franchise and is the best general starting point. Ds9 is fantastic but does rely on a familiarity with trek up to that point.
TNG first is the right way to do it. DS9 is in many ways a subversion and doesn't work as well without that context. The weight of Sisko's moral compromise from In the Pale Moonlight, DS9's undisputed best episode, comes from the frankly kind of naive idealism of TNG. Without it, you just get another generic "morally grey" circle jerk.
For people who don't want to sit through lie a 100 hours of TNG first, I'd recommend still watching it but using an episode guide to cherry pick the best/most important episodes rather than skipping it entirely.
Ooo, you could even interleave them as they ran in the 90s. There was like four seasons of overlap
Strange New Worlds is excellent as well
compared to the other new shit. jury isn't in yet on if they'll be better than enterprise
Recommending TNG to someone these days is an experience. "hey you should watch TNG. It's great in later seasons but starts off really bad. Also, watch out for the two incredibly racist episodes about the Irish and Africans!"
Obviously s1e3 The Naked Now when Picard makes a funny grunt right around the :30 mark
no, this was a genuinely great episode that i loved, not the naked now
HRMHRMHRM
That's fucking hilarious. It's been a long time since I've watched most of season 1.
The Measure of a Man?
nope! not there yet
Oof, that's tricky then. Good news is thay it only gets better from where you are.
I had to look up episodes but season 2 episode 3 where data is Sherlock?
DING DING DING
i liked seeing data have a nice time and solve mysteries :)
also the stuff with moriarty was fun i guess
I like the holodeck episodes a lot, I think they're really fun. You get these wildly tropey episodes with aliens and robots, they're great.
Is it Datalore. My second guess is Hide and Q.
sorry, i just answered it lmao. it was the sherlock holmes episode!
Also a strong pick. Data centric episodes are usually my favorites.
Trick question there are no good star track episodes sorry to spoil your ‘fun’
Loud as a whisper in season 2 is an underappreciated episode
Agreed, Data rules
You'll probably enjoy the Lore episodes if you're anything like me.
Context needed. Did you start from Season 1?
Also it was definitely Code of Honor right?
i started from season 1 but skipped any episode i got bad vibes from and people online all seemed to dislike
code of honor was one of the ones i just flat out skipped, on account of hearing literally nothing positive about it and it seeming very racist
Is it 11001001?
Heart of Glory?
Oh man, I want to rewatch TNG, despite the bad episodes
those were good but not great. my favorite season 1 episode was probably home soil, which was just like the platonic ideal of what i feel like a solid star trek episode should be (not what i'm talking about though)
even a good chunk of the bad ones have been very watchable
I'm pissed that they took it off of Netflix. what am I even paying for
It's in season 3 I'm willing to bet
nope, i'm currently partway through season 2
That was a good and fun episode. The first couple seasons, as I'm sure you're aware are a bit rough. You haven't seen the last of Professor Moriarty either.
Measure of a Man is my favorite. Really shows TNG at its beat.
That will be soon
Yes Cromalin getting trekpilled
