nope! skipped that one because it seemed dumb

[–] Aryuproudomenowdaddy@hexbear.net 11 points 7 months ago

It asks the question "What if God also wrote the rules for your planet wide HOA"

[–] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 10 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Never skip a dumb episode. Dumb and bad episodes are a crucial aspect of trek

sure but it's 200 episodes. i watch them in the background while doing shit but even so that's so much tv to get through. i'm watching most episodes going forwards though, i was pretty strict when dropping episodes season 1 because it's so hated

[–] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 6 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Code of Honor is worth skipping. The rest, you'd be surprised how not bad they are if you pay attention to them. They're bad by tng standards but a lot do have cool stuff going on. Ds9 is the best one but there's a lot to enjoy and the worse early episodes hit better if you haven't seen the show on all cylinders. Measure of a Man will be the first hit of that

nah, i watched like half of them the whole way through and they were mostly fine but like, i'm totally fine skipping some episodes that are at best fine. 178 episodes is so many, especially when i am then going to watch deep space nine which is just as long. i'm going to watch more going forwards, only skip if an episode is truly intolerable to me, but still

i am going to watch every episode of every gundam (maybe except seed and seed destiny) within my lifespan, i cannot make that kind of commitment to another scifi megafranchise rn

It is very dumb but also funny

[–] Cromalin@hexbear.net 5 points 7 months ago (1 children)

well im not going back for it there are like 200 episodes and i don't feel like watching all of them

[–] Dirt_Owl@hexbear.net 6 points 7 months ago

Lmao I wouldn't bother going back for it, it's not worth it unless you like to laugh at the cheesy badness

[–] wtypstanaccount04@hexbear.net 5 points 7 months ago

That's a fun one though

[–] ashinadash@hexbear.net 3 points 7 months ago (1 children)

You're fucking doing it right. I watched the first three seasons of TNG back to back, and I was like "You could gather all the good episodes and make less than one good season from them. Just cut like 70% or more of the episodes."

[–] Cromalin@hexbear.net 3 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago) (1 children)

i definitely don't disagree so far, but it's still mostly very watchable as background tv, even if they're not even good

[–] ashinadash@hexbear.net 3 points 7 months ago

People talk about TNG like it's the goat, they say it's way better than TOS :/
