UPS committed a federal crime, only USPS is allowed to use your mailbox, nobody else.

[–] RHSJack@lemmy.world 31 points 1 year ago (2 children)

And that's how we know this post was probably fake. Another point, in order to cram that box in, they would need to put in considerable effort. No. UPS. Driver. Is going to put this effort in.

OP's home instance is feddit.de and they said "jup" elsewhere in this thread. Mayhaps they aren't in the US?

[–] dlove67@vlemmy.net 10 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Could be, but the mailbox is from a company in Mississippi, and it has a flag on the side, which I've been lead to believe is an American thing.

The letter also has a standard prepaid postage mark used in the USA (though I don't know how that works in other countries)

It's most likely not OPs and is just a repost.

[–] bionicjoey@lemmy.ca 7 points 1 year ago

Oh man, we already have reposters? Time to abandon Lemmy! ^/j^

Yeah this is a repost from reddit. I remember seeing this sometime the beginning of the year I think.

[–] FarFarAway@kbin.social 6 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Amazon definitely uses my mailbox and will put in an incredible effort to cram whatever it is in to keep from walking the 50 steps to my front porch. Although I've never experienced this with ups.

Now that I'm aware this is illegal...ooo, someone's in trouble.

Edit: the word "with."

[–] bobthened 2 points 1 year ago

Is that really a law in the US?! What an insane concept.

[–] indite@lemmy.dbzer0.com 35 points 1 year ago (1 children)

this is a lil worse than mildly infuriating, also repost

[–] Izzent@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Stop caring about reposts if you see a highly upvoted image. That means it's lots of people's first time seeing it.

Also this isn't reddit.

[–] joebobdobbs@compuverse.uk 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Lazy content is lazy regardless of platform.

[–] Izzent@lemmy.world -1 points 1 year ago

It would be lazy content if this was reddit... Don't be oblivious.

[–] Oida@feddit.de 30 points 1 year ago

Also mildly infuriating is the way you wrote vinyl

[–] zzap129@lemmy.world 27 points 1 year ago (3 children)

oh fuck. very infuriating. what record was it?

[–] Admetus@sopuli.xyz 52 points 1 year ago

A broken record.

I'll see myself out.

[–] animist@lemmy.one 19 points 1 year ago (1 children)
[–] supergrizzlybear@pawb.social 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

No response from OP so we can only assume this is the correct answer

[–] animist@lemmy.one 4 points 1 year ago

RIP in pieces OP u were 2good for this gay earth

[–] Breakyfix@lemmy.blahaj.zone 24 points 1 year ago (3 children)

I hate this image so much... All the work that got put into making that vinyl and getting it all the way to you... Just to be snapped in half a couple hundred feet from your front door :S

[–] bdonvr@thelemmy.club 6 points 1 year ago (4 children)

To be fair I don't think making a vinyl is very hard, it's basically just stamped from a mold.

[–] reflex@kbin.social 18 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

stamped from a mold.

Just like the delivery driver's brain.

[–] 4am@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

It’s not necessarily new or still in print though. Depending on what you’re into finding a copy of something can be hard/expensive and then this shit happens

[–] lynny@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

The logistics of getting it to you are hard however

[–] abot@kbin.social 3 points 1 year ago

The process is time consuming. The mold needs to be redone after so many as well.

[–] Felemuso@feddit.de 4 points 1 year ago

You worded it perfectly 🙈

[–] DarkDarkHouse@lemmy.sdf.org 2 points 1 year ago

And it’s one thing if it broke by accident, but this was clearly intentional as well!

[–] doc@kbin.social 22 points 1 year ago (1 children)

This was reposted to reddit dozens of times.

...but now that we're here, does the counter reset? Does an old repost now become a new post? Philosoraptor wants to know.

[–] Wiredfire@kayb.ee 5 points 1 year ago

Judging by the comments I would say apparently so!

[–] fennec@feddit.de 21 points 1 year ago (1 children)

This would make me extremely infuriated :)))))

[–] Felemuso@feddit.de 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Jup 🙃 sorry maybe I chose the wrong community

[–] Admetus@sopuli.xyz 4 points 1 year ago

More fury required.

[–] Waste_Region_4086@kbin.social 18 points 1 year ago

I use to be an Rural Carrier Associate. Packages that don't fit in the box are suppose to get delivered to the door, if I couldn't get to your door then leave a Form 3849 (Attempted Delivery) This is just lazy TBH...

[–] GONADS125@lemmy.world 14 points 1 year ago

Ugh.. this the most infuriating post I've seen here so far...

[–] roofuskit@kbin.social 11 points 1 year ago (2 children)

You mean USPS? It's illegal for UPS to use your mailbox.

[–] nefarious@kbin.social 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Could've been UPS using USPS for last-mile delivery. The OP is also from feddit.de so maybe they're not in the US.

[–] roofuskit@kbin.social 3 points 1 year ago

Yeah, but in the case of your first statement USPS is effecting the delivery.

[–] CynAq@kbin.social 8 points 1 year ago

Even stretched the mailbox itself! What kind of monster was the delivery person?

[–] Quilly@equestria.social 7 points 1 year ago

@Felemuso
Noo, the pain!

Poor "little" disk...

[–] Hhffggshn@lemmy.click 4 points 1 year ago

Ouch, that's sad.

[–] supergrizzlybear@pawb.social 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)
[–] Arrakis@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

A vinyl record

Booed off stage

[–] supergrizzlybear@pawb.social 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

You know what, I expected and deserved that

[–] Arrakis@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself. :D

[–] possiblylinux127@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago
[–] cfx_4188@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 1 year ago

I think I saw this photo on Reddit a year ago.

[–] wipasoda@lemmy.world -1 points 1 year ago

How about not using such a small mail box
