Finally. Something that will bring down the cost of groceries...

Don't you know that adding your pronouns to an email costs an entire 6-10 bytes? There are children starving in Africa and you're wasting your bytes on pronouns! Shame on you.

And, the tariffs will bring them up

This is so stupid. I know plenty of cishet people who include their pronouns in their sig because they have a gender neutral name.

[–] nickwitha_k@lemmy.sdf.org 101 points 1 day ago (8 children)

Or, in my case, for solidarity and normalizing it.

[–] Atropos@lemmy.world 25 points 1 day ago (1 children)
[–] nokturne213@sopuli.xyz 9 points 23 hours ago

That is why I do it three!

My name tag at work also has my pronouns on it.

[–] Kit@lemmy.blahaj.zone 19 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Ty for being an ally, king.

Of course. How else will we prevent future aviation disasters?

I’ve never done this, but this would make me start doing it

I, too, dislike being employed.

But seriously most people will not risk their livelihood for it. It is almost guaranteed to end up in court like so many other of Trump's bullshit policies.

[–] liyunxiao@sh.itjust.works -1 points 9 hours ago (10 children)

They're getting fired eventually anyway, they had pronouns in their sig in the first place.

I'll start requesting people to use thee/thou soon.

[–] spankmonkey@lemmy.world 50 points 1 day ago (4 children)

Does that include Mr. Mrs. and other gendered titles?

[–] brightandshinyobject@lemmy.world 20 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Of course not, those are heteronormative.

And yet again, the Tangerine Palpatine is focusing on stupid shit.

Farmers unable to gather their harvest? The working and middle classes being squeezed into oblivion? Grocery prices skyrocketing? Unknown drones taunting our military bases? Military helicopters colliding with commercial jets?

Nah, none of that stuff matters! Instead we just focus on fucking pronouns in emails!

What an absolute fucking joke.

Edit: fixed a typo.

[–] ShareMySims@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 1 day ago

Nah, none of that stuff matters!

No, not to him, that's the point.

How much more deliberate in their oppressing and exploiting do those in power need to be before people stop expecting any different?

They're there to serve themselves, not society

[–] oleorun@real.lemmy.fan 33 points 1 day ago (4 children)

What about the people who often have DDoD, OCIS, NCIS, CCNA, CCNP, A+, Ph.D, MA, MBA, BA, BS, K12, SCRUMDIDDLYUMPTIOUS after their names? Can we get rid of title abuse then never focus on pronouns?

[–] Zorsith@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 23 hours ago

snrk A+... i always get a giggle when somebody actually includes that one

[–] ThePowerOfGeek@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

App can go except for "SCRUMDIDDLYUMPTIOUS". Because that one is SCRUMDIDDLYUMPTIOUS!

[–] droporain@lemmynsfw.com 1 points 1 day ago

The communist leader of northern Venezuela is mandating how to conduct your business, how to write, how to speak.

Party of small government, rule of law and free markets.

[–] stevedice@sh.itjust.works 1 points 11 hours ago

Mexican here. We're Northern Venezuela. We'll let you have Northern Cuba.

This would make a great pronoun or title attached to your name. Sign off every email with ...

John Doe
Jesus Fucking Christ

[–] meliaesc@lemmy.world 3 points 23 hours ago

I sometimes wish I were petty enough to legally change my last name to be she-her (i don't think that slashes are allowed?l

[–] Tower@lemm.ee 13 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Legal disclaimers often have pronouns, right?

"The information contained in this email message is intended only for the personal use of the recipient(s) named above. If you are not an intended recipient of this email, you are hereby notified that any review, dissemination or copying of this email is strictly prohibited. If you received this email in error, please immediately notify me by replying to this message and then delete this email from your system."

Malicious compliance it and replace all of the pronouns: "The information contained in this email message is intended only for the personal use of the recipient(s) named above. If the recipient is not an intended recipient of this email, the recipient is hereby notified that any review, dissemination or copying of this email is strictly prohibited. If the recipient received this email in error, please immediately notify John Doe by replying to this message and then delete this email from the recipient's system."

Fuck 'em. I'm sure with a bit of work they could come up with some stuff that renders it nearly unreadable.

[–] Malgas@beehaw.org 6 points 21 hours ago

Um, I didn't see where it said to replace pronouns with anything, only to remove them. So the correct verbiage would clearly be:

The information contained in this email message is intended only for the personal use of the recipient(s) named above. If are not an intended recipient of this email, are hereby notified that any review, dissemination or copying of this email is strictly prohibited. If received this email in error, please immediately notify by replying to this message and then delete this email from system.

All fascists need to take dirt naps

[–] mercano@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago (4 children)

Sucks for anyone named Jamie or Alex. Trump is acting like he won in a landslide, even though he wasn’t even able to scrape together a majority of votes; more people voted against him than for him.

[–] Protoknuckles@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I thought he actually got the majority of voters this time?

[–] toomanypancakes@lemmy.world 15 points 1 day ago

He got a plurality of the voting population, not quite over 50% though.

[–] ramble81@lemm.ee 8 points 1 day ago

Sadly it’s a mandate until people actually start pushing back.

[–] ShareMySims@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 1 day ago

even though he wasn’t even able to scrape together a majority of votes; more people voted against him than for him.

What makes you think he cares, or that it makes any difference? He's steamrolling ahead regardless and most of people in his way seem much happier to bend their knee than to resist in any meaningful way.

There's good reason we say you can't vote fascism away.
