That's exactly why we need to start small and local, grass roots.

You're the absolute GOAT for hunting that down, thank you! But the movie I'm thinking of was dingy, low-tech looking.

I haven't seen any of my friends repeat stolen election claims. Most everyone seems to feel that the margin was huge, and the DNC fucked up, but it is what it is. A few are panicking and worried of violence, so we're getting together for a bonfire together to reassure them that we'll all be OK, and we are in an area where no one would allow harm to come to their neighbor. We lived through four years of Trump before, and it was stupid every day, and we'll live through it again.

Hmm, I don't think that's it. Don't suppose you can find a clip of this scene on YouTube? I tried searching but came up empty handed

Literally all you post is political rage-bait. How is the weather in Russia these days comrade?

This kind of shit is exactly what Russia wants. Divide the US, push violence, destabilize the country. We have paths forward that do not involve violence. Now is the time to push for ranked choice voting to allow 3rd party candidates a real chance. The DNC has been out of touch for years, and ranked choice voting will allow us to side step them and choose a candidate with a real chance.

Start small and local. Connect with your local representatives. Have a conversation about ranked choice voting. Come up with a plan that we can achieve together to make this a reality.

I'm fairly certain that a transwoman would have done even worse in polls. It does make me wonder how a transman would fare, though.

I would bet that this is the correct answer.

I saw a Cyberpunk movie around 2014 that I've been searching for since then. Maybe the folks in this thread can help me find it. I only remember one scene:

It's nighttime, and our protagonist (a white male) walks down a subway-style staircase into an underground (literally and figuratively) VR cafe of sorts. He meets with a woman who takes him down a hallway, and they glance into several of the rooms. We can see people in their VR worlds - some of them are men playing simulations of making love to groups of attractive women. Some are engaging in violent fantasies. They come to the room the protagonist will use to enter the VR space, and it looks like a dentist chair with the headset dangling from the ceiling on a metal contraption. There's CRT displays all around that will allow the woman to monitor the protagonist as he's in his VR world on a mission.

Likely English but possibly a foreign film.

That's all I can remember. Does it ring a bell for anyone? I've spent countless hours trying to track this one down.

It's not Johnny Mnemonic or Strange Days.

This has me wondering if baked potatoes or raw potatoes create more power.

Yes, this is still a crucial job role for most organizations.

Got my tubes tied 4 years ago. Happy to answer any questions about the process for anyone considering this route.

If I were a cis woman, I also wouldn't want to risk pregnancy by being with a cis man. Certainly not in a country where being pregnant is increasingly more dangerous to one's life.

Also for my trans homies - remember that HRT is not birth control.

I'm one person and won't have a fridge for a few weeks as mine died. I can't stomach any more canned soup. Any ideas for small meals I can make with shelf stable ingredients?

I was shocked in the presidential debate that Harris gave staunch support for fracking. I was under the impression that democrats are against fracking, and remember people being critical of Fetterman for supporting it.

I also grew up in an area that was heavily impacted by the pollution from fracking. People who worked in the field were seen as failures of moral character who chose profits over the health of their children. How is it that both major parties are now in support of it? I feel like I must be missing a piece of the puzzle.

A small apothecary opened in my neighborhood that makes beauty products. They've been very accommodating with selling me shampoo and body wash in my own reused containers. It's all locally sourced ingredients. I'm new in my Zero Waste journey but it feels great to eliminate plastic from part of my daily routine.

I've recently met a man whose dating profile said that he's Graysexual. I tried Googling the term, but it's a bit confusing and I'm hoping to get a straightforward breakdown from the kind folks in this community.

From what I gather, it's a branch of asexuality that sometimes feels sexual attraction. That's a bit ambiguous, though.

I will ask the person directly once we've spoken more, but it will help to have a foundation of understanding beforehand. Thanks ahead of time!

My bestie broke both of his arms and wrists two days ago. He's in his 20s, a gamer, has a pregnant wife and a young kid. Any ideas for gifts I can get to cheer him up? He'll have no use of his arms for 3 months.

Already got a bidet for him and hooked it up. Looking into accessible gaming controllers, but he said that the pain is so bad rn that even alternative controllers are probably a no go.

My best friend broke both of his arms and wrists, and will have zero use for 3-4 months. I'm trying to figure out some way for him to play videogames while recovering. Maybe some kind of foot controller? A mouth controller?

He's feeling miserable from the pain and I know that gaming would take his mind off of it.

Please let me know if you have any ideas.

I'm in my mid 30s and make 6 figures in IT. I'm considering joining the Air Force Reserves. Is this a stupid idea?

I always regretted not enlisting in my 20s as I feel a strong personal drive to serve my country. I feel that a part time enlistment would fill that void. Any thoughts or experiences are appreciated.

Took me a few hours to figure this out, figured I'd pass it along. Forgive formatting, I'm on mobile.

I have a host name whose dns points to my home IP. I use this for game servers for my buddies. Should I be worried about my home IP being easily accessible like this, and should I get a physical firewall appliance to protect myself?

Servers are running Windows Server 2019 and Mac OSX.

Rice crispies and marshmallows were on sale, but I want to fancy them up a bit.

I'm new to manga and have read the above. I get hooked on the cat and mouse of "How will our protagonist overcome it this time?". Any manga recommendations like this?

Of the above, Berserk was my favorite. Beefy men are a plus.

Thanks ahead of time!

I have a raspberry Pi 4B that is connected to a CRT TV via Composite and controlled with a PS4 controller. I'd like to use the Pi for Netflix, Plex client, and playing DVDs from an ext drive. What distro would be best for this?

I tossed Retro Pi onto it and the controls work great but I can't figure out how to install the media apps.
