I'm the opposite. I was talking to my therapist about being socially anxious. She said I didn't seem nervous talking to her. I told her "No offense, but I don't really care what you think of me so there's nothing to be nervous about."
Yeah, that's not how you win therapy. The goal is to get them to cry over your past trama while you are making this face :3
Both me and my mom, on separate occasions, have made therapists cry.

Yes they can. It's their job. But sharing that sentiment with them can be a good first step. And they should certainly be able to handle that.
