"Let's not bring politics into it" is a weird and bold thing for an elected mayor to say about the enforcement of new laws within their city.

[–] SouthEndSunset@lemm.ee 31 points 1 week ago

I like it when they accuse a politician of “playing politics”. /s What does it even mean?

[–] queermunist@lemmy.ml 70 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Okay, so when the fuck is it time to pick political fights?

[–] Cimbazarov@hexbear.net 68 points 1 week ago

If a socialist or any one who is even remotely left tries to gain power

[–] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 59 points 1 week ago

When it's time to help the poor and needy

Berlin Mayor said this is no time to be "picking political fights." So the city will follow any new Nuremberg Race Laws.

[–] AcidSmiley@hexbear.net 25 points 1 week ago

Times have changed in Berlin, the current mayor would follow Nuremberg race laws while saying that he's against "all forms of antisemitism".

[–] thelastaxolotl@hexbear.net 36 points 1 week ago

Their are not Trump's fascist laws okay tankie?

They are Bi-partisan fascist laws passed by the democratic vote of the legislative branch

[–] buckykat@hexbear.net 36 points 1 week ago

You see, by not enforcing his fascist laws, we'd be abandoning Decorum and Norms, and then he'd really win because destroying Decorum and Norms is what fascism is all about, which is also why tankies and fascists are the same maybe-later-kiddo

DNC: "we must fight fascism and trump!"

Voters: "k by moving left and/or resisting fascist policies?"

DNC: "no lol not us! We're simply tools of the state, laws are moral absolutes. We are forced by lawnature to follow fascist law if it passes, duh!

Grow up and vote the fascism away. That's how the politic works

[–] goferking0@lemmy.sdf.org 21 points 1 week ago

Kamala how will you protect minorities?

we will follow the laws

she ran a perfect campaign

[–] GrouchyGrouse@hexbear.net 23 points 1 week ago

Since liberals and especially liberal burgers understand reality through movies the movie "Trial at Nuremberg" makes a point about how creating, enforcing, and following fascist laws "because it's the law" is bad and not an excuse.

Like it's kinda the whole message.

“NOW THAT BLOMPF IS ELECTED DEMOCRACY IS OVER. VELVEETA VOLDEMORT WILL BAN BEING ANYTHING BUT A STRAIGHT WHITE PROPERTY OWNING MALE. maybe-later-kiddo: “When they go low, we go high! The American people are bound to stop thinking we’re a bunch of SJWs any day now!”

[–] TC_209@hexbear.net 2 points 1 week ago

"When they go low, we triangulate precisely how low we can go without going as low as them, but not so high that we actually have to do anything other than give them everything they want!"

[–] AntifaSuperWombat@hexbear.net 16 points 1 week ago

Can’t they at least try to keep the mask up, even just a little bit?

[–] Moss@hexbear.net 15 points 1 week ago

Me in the middle of a debate in the party: "uh guys let's not fight, there's no need to make things political"

Start by typing "@" and the name and then pick the suggestions. If you wanted to type it out yourself entirely it's

Usually when they say something like this there's some seperate vaguely bipartisan crisis going on at the same time. What is he even referring to here. They aren't even trying to make a bullshit justification, you're just supposed to blindly agree for some reason.
