I have successfully completed my assignment. I don't think it will go very well - it is a reflection of what I have learned and plans for the future, and I believe I lack the optimism they are probably hoping for. Oh well, at least it is honest.

Found a "sorry you were out" delivery card for the missus in the bushes down the side of the house. Luckily only a couple of days old. Am puzzled how it got there as our mailbox is of a type that would make it very difficult for it to escape somehow. Anyway, looking forward to what that is when she collects it. It had better be some sort of full rizz skibidee pressie for me.

Thanks ATO for reducing my HELP by $522.51. Now I only owe -checks notes- $11,668.75. still $1,200 more than the actual loan. πŸ’€

Edit: actually reminds me of the story my dad tells of the only protest he ever attended on purpose: protesting HECS/HELP (HEAC) in the 80s lol. He was at RMIT, near Melb Central (still being built, twas a massive pit in the ground), and went to the sit in protest, I think out the front of Parliament House. I mean, it didn't work, but thanks anyway Dad! πŸ’œ

I got home around 5 and fell straight asleep. I'm one of those people that needs 9 hours, not 8, to be truly rested. Don't get it very often, but a few nights of 7 hours of sleep in a row result in a very tired Baku

We built the couch, but it's not that comfy. Apparently I paid so little attention to it I didn't even realize it turns into a bed. Kinda neat, but sacrifices do come with that. Like the armrest on one side just not existing, and the mattress thing (which is kinda more like a comforter) also being one of the cushions. It's okay

Also I didn't measure the table, and was forced to order it online and in a hurry so I've realized it's too short for the chairs I got. I think I should be able to find little feet somewhere I could drill into the bottom to give it a few extra cm, which'd make it better. Table is almost but not quite done. Few more things to put on it. Dryer guys rocked up 2 hours later, but apparently their van broke down and they got a flat tyre. But they brought it inside, plugged it in, and took all the rubbish so that's good

Picked up the 3 parcels from Kmart that we're chilling at the post office for a week. The one from NBN is still in the process of moving from Dandenong South to somewhere else. And that fake Australian stock thing I ordered has finally shipped and should arrive today or tomorrow

Just about wraps everything up in a neat little bow. Just need to really get into the packing so I have less to do on moving day

Results of bird survey: I don't have many birds in my yard. Two galahs flew over, and two doves briefly landed on my neighbour's roof.

morning all...I've been quiet because its been a time but I'm here. Right now I need some advice - I left my spag bol cooling on the bench and left it there overnight (about 8 hours). Its now in the fridge

Should I eat it?

Have your say!

[–] StudChud@aussie.zone 6 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

I would eat it, only because I'm poor and can't waste food πŸ˜‚

It should be okay, but then again, perhaps not. Idk what grows on cold spaget

[–] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 6 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I would eat it

Is that the sauce or the sauce+pasta? Was there a lid on it? What is approximate ambient temperature of kitchen overnight? Likelihood of feline (or other) bandits? 'On the bench' could cover a multitude of scenarios.
Basically, if there was a lid on it, and the kitchen got chilly overnight you might be OK. No lid and warm overnight temps then a hard no. If cats/ants/cockroaches have dipped their paws in it - hard no.
Spag Bol sauce is not as fragile as a cream sauce like alfredo, but still .... Rule of Thumb is to put such stuff in fridge as soon as steam stops rising from it.

Good stuff Medicare. You renewed my card (due to expire in a couple of months) and cancelled the old one before I got the replacement. And you told me none of this so I only knew about it when the psych couldn't process the rebate πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Well good thing I had just done an hour learning to calm my need to prepare for random shit to go wrong and that I do actually have agency in the world /s

[–] Pilk@aussie.zone 6 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

That's awkward. The myGov app is good for getting government cards instantly, just in case for future.

Look I'll admit I'm the one who fucked up here. BUT: When I said "should we test this further" i was told "nah it'll be fine".

Again, my mistake. take full ownership and wont point the finger at anyone, I pulled the trigger. But in my heart of hearts I know the idea (which obviously turned out to be wrong) was endorsed by senior folks.

Today I finished reading another book on Western calligraphy, I learn something new in every book.

was also good to get some validation that using thinned paint for colours rather than coloured inks is the best . I'd been doing that for years already

Migraine :(

β€œIn every generation there is a chosen one. He alone will stand against the vampires the demons and the forces of darkness. He is ... Abraham Lincoln the slayer.”

Abraham Lincoln : Vampire Hunter. I give this 3.5 hobbits for originality , fun and really good production.

Currently on day three of no carbs, one meal a day. It's office Christmas lunch today so I'll be cheating on the "one meal a day" part, but going to stick to meats and salad. Feeling pretty low energy and had a headache yesterday but it ain't so bad

Congrats on hitting the dreaded 'Keto flu'. It goes away after a couple of days and you'll feel heaps better. The first week or so is tough.
