Summary

Toxic smog has blanketed northern India and Pakistan, with Lahore ranked as the world’s most polluted city.

Authorities in Lahore closed schools, restricted outdoor activities, and deployed mobile clinics to treat respiratory issues.

In New Delhi, pollution reached "severe" levels, with government trucks spraying water to mitigate smog and visibility issues causing some flight delays.

Seasonal crop burning, low winds, and cooler temperatures are exacerbating pollution across the region, threatening public health and obstructing visibility at landmarks like the Taj Mahal and Golden Temple.

A lot of laws are written in blood. This is what insufficient environmental protection looks like either in law or enforcement. People should be more aware of this.

Not sure spraying water is going to help. More water means higher humidity air which will drive the smog. No?

...and I love the juxtaposition of public health with obscuring views of tourist attractions. No messed up priorities here.

This should inspire a new Nabisco cookie 🍪. And it should be consumed with Coca-Cola or some other Nestle "food".
