All the people you see from high school want you to join their MLM scheme. That's why it's so scary

I've been too scared to visit Facebook for over 10 years now, never again...

Literally every time I go to Walmart in my hometown

Same. Can't get through a trip to that place without some awkward conversation with someone I don't give a fuck about.

I saw some pictures of my class' 10th reunion not too long ago and it was really just filled with people I had zero interest in interacting with. I don't really care what they're doing or want to reconnect with them.

That Walmart would just be me shopping but hating being at Walmart because it's 2024 and they still don't have tap to pay at their self checkout.

My hs reunion involved the organizer invited more of the class only when they realized they needed more people to help pay for the venue, myself included. This was done less than a week before the event.

Actually ended up reconnecting with some people that received the later invite in shared disgust so that's a nice thing. But it also made me realize how little I wanted to interact with any of the main group.

I think ours went out through Facebook and I only heard through friends sending me screenshots, but yeah, if you guys want a clique party go have a clique party.

Maybe that's already the case anytime I go to Walmart and I just don't even notice.

Semi related: I was just thinking yesterday that I wish i could go back to highschool and befriend a bunch of my fellow weirdos instead of trying to fit in with the group i was in by default.
It didn't work very well.

Bold of you to assume I remember anyone from roughly 6 years ago besides my friends!

[–] hash@slrpnk.net 11 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Foolish mortal. They'll recognize you.

[–] mxcory@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 week ago

This is too true for me. I am scared!

And they'll look vaguely familiar, but you won't recall their name.

Or, even creepier, a poorly lit Walmart full of Walmart greeters and in the distance they chant their weird corporate cult group chants.

[–] Anticorp@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Wait. They have weird corporate group chants? Just when I thought I couldn't dislike Walmart any more than I already do.

[–] weariedfae@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

I legit got startled because this was so chilling.
