/c/TenFoward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

I can't claim to have made this one. I make a fair amount of them, but this one isn't mine.

I hope I'm infected with some interspatial parasites so I can forget this joke.

I want to be able to laugh at it over and over again.

[–] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 12 points 2 months ago

That joke was so bad, TOS cast members felt the cringe.

My favorite stupid curling fact is that for competition they've had to put NASCAR-like limits on broom technology because some teams developed a "broom" that was essentially a microplane grater that could polish the ice to microscopic smoothness.

Now it's in your and your search engines hands.

But. Curling is a sport. There is a little puck and to make it go smoother/faster, the scrub in front of the little pluck with a broom.

Curling is a sport that involves sliding stones on ice toward a target area. Learn about its origins in medieval Scotland, its global popularity, and its unique features such as sweeping, curling, and scoring.

little puck

Do we watch different Curling, or do you just have a different definition of "little"?

stones

Ah there we go...

[–] andrew_bidlaw@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 months ago

Yup, I did see curling competitions on TV, it just didn't occured to me that this meme referenced this sport and I needed that explanation to get it.

[–] samus12345@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

Well, maple syrup and snow's what they export

They treat curling just like it's a real sport!

Just watched this episode again. Riker is absolutely awful at cooking scrambled eggs. Even if he had used perfect free range organic Earth chicken eggs, those looked dry, burnt, and chewy.
