This isn't bad real estate, this is badass real estate

[–] cloudy1999@sh.itjust.works 16 points 1 year ago

I don't know if I'd want to live there, but I kind of like the aesthetic.

[–] AllNewTypeFace@leminal.space 89 points 1 year ago (3 children)

They succeeded in making a real life scene that looks like it was rendered by a PlayStation 1 in 1997

[–] cloudy1999@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 year ago

Haha, yeah, looks like they found Don Corneo's new lair.

The fake outside has such a postapocalyptic feel to it.

[–] Hotdogman@lemmy.world 14 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (2 children)

I don't know when this place was built but, this exact theme is literally in Fallout 76. An underground shelter made to look like outside so that if they spend long times in the shelter they don't go stir crazy.

I don’t know when Fallout 76 was written but, this exact theme is literally in Blast From the Past. An underground shelter made to look like outside so that if they spend long times in the shelter they don’t go stir crazy.

Fallout 76 is a video game from 2018, and certainly got its idea from Blast From the Past.

Kids these days just don't know that gem of a movie exists.

True, but if there will ever be somewhat affordable fake windows that are nearly indistinguishable from real windows, my office is getting that late spring afternoon on Santorini vibe.

[–] grue@lemmy.world 39 points 1 year ago

This transcends tacky and loops back around to cool.

Twice.

[–] WoofWoof91@hexbear.net 29 points 1 year ago (1 children)

that's fucking hideous i love it

[–] sab@kbin.social 9 points 1 year ago

A luxury bunker is so wonderfully late stage capitalism.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 28 points 1 year ago

I knew what this was before I even expanded the thumbnail. That whole pace is crazy. I wonder if the movie Blast from the Past was based on it or if it was just a coincidence?

Exactly what I was thinking. That movie is a gem, watched it last a year ago with my brother.

[–] Neato@kbin.social 15 points 1 year ago

I love this. Look at the ceiling: tons of vents so it'll be nice and cool. I don't need the pole but it's really getting its aesthetic right.

[–] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 14 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (2 children)

This is only bad if the bad is followed by an ass. Badass.

Well... The dancing pole is kinda tacky. Replace that whole thing and the wooden stage with a hot tub 😃

[–] imgonnatrythis@lemm.ee 5 points 1 year ago

You need ways to exercise in the apocalypse

[–] Gingerlegs@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

It’s a “support beam” /s

[–] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 4 points 1 year ago

"Supported my daughter all the way to college."

[–] clearedtoland@lemmy.world 12 points 1 year ago

That timeless Vegas casino aesthetic

[–] zifnab25@hexbear.net 12 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Imagine having the whole world to survive the apocalypse and choosing Vegas

[–] persolb@lemmy.ml 6 points 1 year ago

Someone played too much Fallout New Vegas.

(it isn’t possible to play too much FO:NV. That game is a masterpiece)

[–] norbert@kbin.social 4 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Gotta be someone who lived/worked in the area and wanted a hidey-hole. You could wait out the initial chaos for however long it took (1 year? 5? 10?) before you came out and headed to your second, longer term spot up the Rocky mountains or whatever. When you have the money for a $5m bunker it just all becomes logistics of prepping and storage.

After TEOTWAWKI Vegas will probably empty out pretty quick without power or irrigation, it might be a nice safe spot to ride it out if you're prepared for it.

[–] bstix@feddit.dk 11 points 1 year ago

I love having the porch in the basement.

[–] wander1236@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 year ago

This is incredible

[–] itsyourmom@artemis.camp 7 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Comes complete with a stripper pole…. BYOS… (bring your own strippers) ofc!

[–] Emperor 11 points 1 year ago

It's Vegas, they're probably easier to find than fruit and vegetables.

[–] itsyourmom@artemis.camp 8 points 1 year ago (2 children)

“4 Attached garage spaces”

? The rest I get… but attached 4 car garage… underground?

[–] Ilovethebomb@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

There's a whole house above ground that this is built under.

[–] dutchkimble@lemy.lol 4 points 1 year ago

It connects to the post apocalyptic tunnel transportation network

[–] Bloodwoodsrisen@lemmy.tf 6 points 1 year ago

That hardwood spot would be brilliant to practice on! We built a small stage in our basement when I was still dancing

[–] Disgustoid@startrek.website 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Why does the wall on right side look like an old Burger King?

[–] Madison420@lemmy.world 14 points 1 year ago

Because it's a older ranch style home underground. Think blast from the past.

[–] pizza-bagel@kbin.social 5 points 1 year ago

That rock grill has 1994 Flintstones vibes and I am here for it. Put it in my house

[–] itsyourmom@artemis.camp 5 points 1 year ago

*I’m totally not bookmarking this address for future reference * 😉 for if ever the apocalypse happens

Taking hotline Miami to the next level

[–] gk99@beehaw.org 4 points 1 year ago

The funny thing about this is the assumption that land ownership matters in the event of the apocalypse. Having your fancy bunker location public is probably the wrong thing to do.

[–] Hank@kbin.social 4 points 1 year ago

Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you hope for a nuclear winter.

[–] winston@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

I would honestly just live in the underground area. Seems real peaceful 😊

[–] Franzia@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 1 year ago

OP you posted this in the wrong board, this is the ideal female bedroom

"Liminal Fuck"

[–] ShimmeringKoi@hexbear.net 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Only six mil? In Las Vegas? Yeah that shit's getting cut into with oxyacetalyne torches on day 0.

[–] TankieTanuki@hexbear.net 2 points 1 year ago
