"Transportation using lightweight vehicles such as bicycles or scooters, especially electric ones that may be borrowed as part of a self-service rental program in which people rent vehicles for short-term use within a town or city.

micromobility is seen as a potential solution to moving people more efficiently around cities"

It's a little sad that we need to actually say this, but:

Don't be an asshole or you will be permanently banned.

Respectful debate is totally OK, criticizing a product is fine, but being verbally abusive will not be tolerated.

Focus on discussing the idea, not attacking the person.

TL;DR - shitty battery goes FWOOOF

"Hicks explained that Talaria normally only uses a well-respected battery maker known as Greenway Batteries. ... However, due to a “clerical error made by the Talaria team,” some Talaria MX5 electric motorbikes that were shipped to the US included a battery produced by another supplier known as Scud."

Is it Luna Cycle? Of course it's Luna Cycle.

[–] PerogiBoi@lemmy.ca 6 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Talaria is its own separate company. Luna Cycle is a scum business. The owners of Luna Cycle are the moderators of Reddits ebike subreddit.

They remove any poor service reviews from Lunacycle and actively harass people who post about issues with their orders. They have been caught creating sock-puppet accounts to comment pile and downvote negative threads.

Purchase an e-bike from anywhere else but Lunacycle.

Good context for the ones who aren't aware. 👍

But "Scud" sounds like such a reputable brand

Not sure what I need to do differently in my post to make the link work correctly :(

I'm not sharing the link correctly, somehow. There's no preview of the page, just the active link. I assume there's probably markdown or similar I should use, just not sure what it is.

You posted it in the body, not the link field, if that's what you mean. Otherwise if you want to customise the text of a link: [custom text here](url here)

Not all Lemmy apps include a link field in their posting features yet. That may be why it’s showing up in body text.

Gotcha. I'm using Mlem and I see a title and body fields, perhaps that's it.

Mlem dev here - you can add a link to the post by tapping on the link button in the toolbar then tapping "Paste". We're aware that this isn't ideal UI, and are improving it in the next update.

Thanks, much appreciated!

Glad I'm building my own. Been a PITA, and I missed a good bit of the season, but at least I know where my fucking battery came from. I'll stick with em3ev :p

[–] avidamoeba@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

EM3ev makes sick batteries. Grin's (ebikes.ca) LiGo were spectacular batteries too. I got two bikes on them but they're discontinued. There should be a new design coming out this or next year.
