I was existentially afraid to watch this movie as a kid, because I was convinced it would never end. My kid-brain was sure that if I ever started watching it, I would never be able to stop.
Home Video (VHS, DVD, Blu-ray, 4k)
On Reddit we have r/dvdcollection, r/boutiquebluray, r/4kbluray, r/steelbook, r/vhs, etc but let's start simply with a community to cover all the forms of home video collecting.
So, do you feel nostalgic for a format? Are you looking forward to a release? Heard any exciting news? Want to show us your shelves? Then post away.

These editions can't be cheap to produce, I've just found out this set is $170!! I wish they would produce cheaper sets without the physical extras.
Physical media is a niche industry now. A company like Imprint would have purchased the rights to this movie in a batch that included other movies that aren't as popular. A movie with this much name recognition is like the Christmas season for them, so they need to produce deluxe sets like these to recoup their investment on the entire batch and turn an outsized profit to fund all the other less well-known films they want to release.
Don't worry, there will definitely be a regular edition at a later date (possibly without the extended cut, likely without all the extra Blu-ray discs). They'll want to sell as many copies of this movie as possible.
Haha tried to get my daughter to watch this totally forgot about the horse seen lol. I had to skip to the end for her. Also forgot there is some nudity in it. Still a staple of childhood for me and realize why my tastes are the way they are now.
Nudity? You mean the fiberglass/plaster statues?
Yes lol but to my child self it was an eye opener lol. Imagine what 4k will look like

I'm sorry your parents never took you to art museums
It'll probably more like plaster. 4k isn't always better. There are some low-budget effects things that aren't improved.
I bet even comparing your old VHS that awoke your youth compared to the 2k Blu-ray, the new copy would be a lot less 'interesting' to look at.
I just hope the 4k is transferred well but also doesn't let us see every seam in the costume and flake in the makeup
Oh ya museums were days away if you were traveling from where I grew up unfortunately. Still learned about in nature and stuff along those lines. I wouldnt say awoken but was interesting to see lol. We will see how the 4k goes for this one and how much AI they used to smooth the image. I don't know how the original was shot for film but hopefully it's good. The scenes with plaster and costumes might be a bit risky though.
But we all shall see. I like the art on the case and sometimes that's all it takes for me to buy something.... I have alot of media 😃
I would read books and watch documentary as a young child when learning about the world.
