The game is called Soulash 2, and the developer recently added a marriage system in an update, but refused to allow same-sex marriage options when asked by a player.

Dude makes a twitter post that is something else lmao https://x.com/ArturSmiarowski/status/1827386801310593108

My grandparents survived the nazis, my parents endured communism, I had to live through religious oppression since the age of 10, and now some spoiled brats think I'll bend my knee to their rainbow flag, or else they'll type some words.

I truly hate g*mers

"My grandparents lived through oppression, so now I'm going to oppress others."

Genius brain here.

[–] Sulvor@hexbear.net 29 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (1 children)

To these people, not being allowed to oppress others is oppression

[–] HelltakerHomosexual@hexbear.net 10 points 3 weeks ago

they want to be white so badly

[–] nocturnedragonite@lemmygrad.ml 53 points 3 weeks ago (4 children)

Lmao "bEnD tHe kNeE" headass. Why do these people always feel like they're being oppressed lmao

[–] MrStalin@hexbear.net 38 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

clearly the communists in poland-cool didn't oppress his parents enough

[–] PolandIsAStateOfMind@lemmygrad.ml 16 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Yup, PRL was way to soft, to fix Poland there would need to be at least 50 years of Cultural Revolution.

The self aggrandizement is stunning

[–] NephewAlphaBravo@hexbear.net 32 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I wish chuds were as oppressed as they think they are

[–] DragonBallZinn@hexbear.net 29 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

“How dare people better than me don’t just die! And even worse, some of them have the audacity to ask me to BE NICER TO THEM!”

White people, particularly religious ones are the closest thing to real life elves

The Aldmeri Dominion in the Elder Scrolls series is basically Magic Burgerland. joker-amerikkklap

don’t let the blue haired lesbians get to you

These people are not sentient.

[–] BeamBrain@hexbear.net 13 points 3 weeks ago (3 children)

You know what's funny? I only ever encounter "people" like this online. Not once have I ever met someone in real life who talked like this.

[–] UlyssesT@hexbear.net 15 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

I've seen dogwhistle blowers and baiters that'd play straw-"wokes" to deliberately set off the chuds in the game's chat bot.

"Check your privilege, shitlord" "did you just assume my gender" and all that tiresome shit.

[–] destroyamerica@lemmygrad.ml 14 points 3 weeks ago

i work with one...

[–] HelltakerHomosexual@hexbear.net 9 points 3 weeks ago

nah they fucking everywhere

[–] Rojo27@hexbear.net 42 points 3 weeks ago (4 children)

Whats this "religious oppression" he's lived through since the age of 10 in Poland?

[–] Formerlyfarman@hexbear.net 31 points 3 weeks ago

He probably went to a catholic school.

[–] DengistDonnieDarko@hexbear.net 30 points 3 weeks ago

gommulism 😔

[–] RyanGosling@hexbear.net 23 points 3 weeks ago

Divine groping by the priest

[–] GlueBear@hexbear.net 19 points 3 weeks ago

Also why is he not sympathizing and including another group that has had to deal with religious oppression?

[–] GoebbelsDeezNuts@hexbear.net 37 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (1 children)

Someone close to him in the comments:

"Artur, I say this as someone who cares, and would like to give you the benefit of the doubt, that it is disappointing, disheartening even, to see you go down this route. Please for a second consider the people you would have made happy by including inclusivity, just for a moment"

This idiot:

"We've got to know each other for a while now, and I appreciate you giving me the benefit of the doubt.

Please consider that people around the world went through different shit to survive up to this point, and you can't have tolerance for intolerance because that's just living in oppression.

That's how I feel at this moment. I spent a whole week stressing over not saying something that might offend a specific group of people I will never meet, I didn't sleep the last 2 days, until I realized that this simply doesn't fucking work for my mental health.

So my message to these extremists who demand me to subscribe to their ideology is to live and let live, or fuck off. I hope you'll understand this has gone too far, and while it receives some well-deserved pushback to normality we can all live with, we can remain friends."

"you can't have tolerance for intolerance" He is very smart. His understanding of the Paradox of tolerance is unparalleled.

"I spent a whole week stressing over not saying something that might offend a specific group of people I will never meet" TIL there are none gay people in Poland

[–] edge@hexbear.net 38 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Using the paradox of tolerance to justify actual intolerance is a new one for me. It’s such an insane thing to do.

[–] GarbageShoot@hexbear.net 34 points 3 weeks ago

It's a very blatant "Reversing Victim and Offender"

[–] GlueBear@hexbear.net 25 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I've seen it done many times when it comes to Syrian refugees and "saving western values."

[–] Gosplan14_the_Third@hexbear.net 10 points 3 weeks ago

It's extremely popular in Germany to justify the government going after extremists. In general, most governments will tell you the exact same thing about enemies. Sprinkle in some moralism on top too, usually.

[–] AmericaHaterSexHaver@hexbear.net 35 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Stalin shouldve turned Warsaw to ash

[–] GarbageShoot@hexbear.net 27 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Warsaw was already in ash due to the Nazis . . . I think some other approach to the problem might have been merited instead.

[–] PolandIsAStateOfMind@lemmygrad.ml 19 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (1 children)

Soviets freed it and then helped to rebuild it. Clealy didn't work its inhabitants never forgiven Soviets for that. Which is kinda understandable to be honest from at least one point of view, Warsaw is an awful place and should be plowed instead and new capital founded somewhere else.

[–] HelltakerHomosexual@hexbear.net 8 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

the efforts of polish communists to bring poland salvation was undermined by the greed of the reactionary masses, backed by western capital

[–] DragonBallZinn@hexbear.net 35 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

This game is going to be glazed as the best game ever made in 3…2….1….

[–] Rojo27@hexbear.net 36 points 3 weeks ago

"Finally a game without politics!"frothingfash

[–] DengistDonnieDarko@hexbear.net 28 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

do not look at the steam reviews

[–] DragonBallZinn@hexbear.net 26 points 3 weeks ago
[–] Sulvor@hexbear.net 16 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

90% of those reviews are from before this update. I got this like 6 months ago and updates have been constant

[–] PolandIsAStateOfMind@lemmygrad.ml 29 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (1 children)

I had to live through religious oppression since the age of 10

Well no shit we all live under religious opression since 1989 when church got handed power over morality, rights and lots of money in Poland lawmaking.
But i think the fucker tried to tell something else here.

[–] TechnoUnionTypeBeat@hexbear.net 8 points 3 weeks ago

Huh, wonder what happened in 1989 that might have caused Poland to become super reactionary ussr-cry

[–] thelastaxolotl@hexbear.net 28 points 3 weeks ago
[–] BeamBrain@hexbear.net 24 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (2 children)

My grandparents survived the nazis [...] and now some spoiled brats think I'll bend my knee to their rainbow flag.

Reminds me of a verse from the song Arbeit Macht Frei:

CW for maybe a slur? I dunno if the q-word counts as a slur when used in this contextHer old man
He don't like blacks or queers
Yet he's proud we beat the Nazis?
How queer

God fucking damn it and I was interested in this game too

[–] Sulvor@hexbear.net 16 points 3 weeks ago

Same, it's pretty niche and still a WIP but now I want a refund

Soulash

that name should have been reserved for a paranormal/ghost themed cooking game

[–] UlyssesT@hexbear.net 12 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

(Dungeon Meshi spoilers)

spoiler

[–] Krem@hexbear.net 10 points 3 weeks ago

I need some ghost peppers and scare-ots for my soulash

[–] TreadOnMe@hexbear.net 20 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I will never meet these people. Therefore, I hate them and their ideology that is clearly being forced upon me, even though again, I have never actually met any of them. What an absolute baby.

[–] UlyssesT@hexbear.net 14 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (1 children)

CDPR and especially its toxic reddit-logo fandom constantly reminds me of how nonpolitical us-foreign-policy Based Poland, land of the Witcherino and the Cyberpunkerino, tends to be when treats flow out of it.

[–] FearsomeJoeandmac@hexbear.net 19 points 3 weeks ago

i think thats just the fans. Cyberpunk was a pretty gay game.

Not saying it was a good or bad slop, just that it was gay

[–] UlyssesT@hexbear.net 13 points 3 weeks ago
[–] hello_hello@hexbear.net 11 points 3 weeks ago

Maybe he just doesn't know how to program same sex marriage into the game and he doesn't want people to know. But these hexbear TANKIES are bullying this poor Polish dudebro for not being good at programming.

Tch tch. Expected nothing more from a TANKIE instance.
