Warsaw was already in ash due to the Nazis . . . I think some other approach to the problem might have been merited instead.
Soviets freed it and then helped to rebuild it. Clealy didn't work its inhabitants never forgiven Soviets for that. Which is kinda understandable to be honest from at least one point of view, Warsaw is an awful place and should be plowed instead and new capital founded somewhere else.
