Even Lawrence O'Donnell has openly stated in at least one interview years after the fact that Ralph Nader was always a useful scapegoat to explain away the Democratic Parties own failures and ineptitude during Bush V. Gore and the 2000 election. Trying to find the clip but to paraphrase him: its rather sad and hilarious how the DNC spent months and months insisting and asserting that he wasn't a real candidate or a serious person they even needed to engage with or breath life into...until suddenly they needed someone who they could conveniently pin the whole thing on to avoid ever having to do any sort of self critique or analysis.

One of the fundamental category errors these turd Democrat voters make, and I include Sam Seder in this, is the blanket assumption that everybody to their left somehow owes the Democrats their vote because they're the only viable party that isn't the GOP. I hate it so much. I am not a Democrat. I fucking hate the Democrats and think all of the Democrats on the federal level should be tried in the Hague for aiding a genocide. It's infuriating, and in most cases, unless you live in a swing state, your vote doesn't count. It doesn't matter who I vote for, my state has been blue since the 90s, and by a wide margin. There is no doubt who is going to win in my state in November. We make up such an insignificant portion of the vote that we do not actually impact it in any way.
But you know what does impact the vote? Apathy. When people are apathetic about the process, they disengage from voting. You know who is seldomly apathetic about the process? Conservatives. Democrats, if they were interested in winning, would never lose an election against the current slate of conservatives. Part of that apathy comes from people like Sam telling the apathetic viewers in his audience that they need to "vote blue no matter who".

I agree wholeheartedly. All the Democrats need to do is offer something OTHER than "republican but nice about it" policies. Completely abandoning the snide, condescending attitude when people balk at voting for the modern nazis party's polite wing would also go miles towards making non-affiliated people not hate democrats and their supporters, too.
