Rules for Posting Guides on Our Community

1. Defining a Guide Guides are comprehensive reference materials, how-tos, or comparison tables. A guide must be well-organized both in content and layout. Information should be easily accessible without unnecessary navigation. Guides can include flowcharts, step-by-step instructions, or visual references that compare different elements side by side.

2. Infographic Guidelines Infographics are permitted if they are educational and informative. They should aim to convey complex information visually and clearly. However, infographics that primarily serve as visual essays without structured guidance will be subject to removal.

3. Grey Area Moderators may use discretion when deciding to remove posts. If in doubt, message us or use downvotes for content you find inappropriate.

4. Source Attribution If you know the original source of a guide, share it in the comments to credit the creators.

5. Diverse Content To keep our community engaging, avoid saturating the feed with similar topics. Excessive posts on a single topic may be moderated to maintain diversity.

6. Verify in Comments Always check the comments for additional insights or corrections. Moderators rely on community expertise for accuracy.

Community Guidelines

By following these rules, we can maintain a diverse and informative community. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to the moderators. Thank you for contributing responsibly!

Seems like a guide from someone that wants to sell 20 shirts, 12 pairs of pants, 8 pairs of shoes and 6 blazers.

As long as isn't full of tear holes, wear whatever the fuck you want.

[–] niucllos@lemm.ee 5 points 4 months ago (1 children)

I mean you don't need to buy at every level, and a lot of it is shared, e.g. the smart casual and business casual blazers can be the same one

[–] solsangraal@lemmy.zip 7 points 4 months ago (1 children)

it's not the guide that's bullshit, it's the fact that distinct categories like "smart casual" (wtf is "smart" any kind of clothes anyway?) and "business casual" even exist. i sincerely hope i never get to the point that i can tell them apart. we need to push for LESS superficial bullshit culture, not the other way around

[–] BCsven@lemmy.ca 3 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Smart is a British term for looking sharply dressed, etc. Like "Oi, Lad, don't you look smart with the new 'aircut"

[–] solsangraal@lemmy.zip 2 points 4 months ago

ok. this still doesn't explain how "sharply dressed" casual is different from "business" casual. don't tell me--i don't care

Fuckin boooooring!

Tired of men wearing boring ass shit.

Wear some bright colors, try a pattern! It ain't the 40's, gosh, have fun.

Edit: no shorts?

[–] solsangraal@lemmy.zip 7 points 4 months ago (2 children)

i wear nothing but black and grey specifically to repel people who are entertained by bright colors

[–] TheAlbatross@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 4 months ago (1 children)

I'm sorry you hate fun, I hope things get better for ya

[–] solsangraal@lemmy.zip 8 points 4 months ago (2 children)

fun is great, i love fun. just not people who think fun requires bright colors

[–] TheAlbatross@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 4 months ago

To reiterate the other commentor's point, I'm just joshing, being flippant, having a giggle. You rock your style and enjoy what you enjoy.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago

It’s all good mon

[–] electro1@infosec.pub 3 points 4 months ago

People who like dark colors have the brightest minds, cheers 🍻

[–] BubbleMonkey@slrpnk.net 4 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (1 children)

I’d like to see more of this sort of thing, personally. As just part of the available options. Colors would be great too!

You are more than welcome to do so, but I don’t really make posts in communities I don’t have an investment in. Or many at all really.

I can send you the URLs for the original pics and all, if you like :) it turns out those I linked are super low quality and a simple screenshot would have higher res.

But I probably don’t belong there; I have no skin in this other than finding men in manskirts psychologically attractive. And even that’s a bit of a stretch as an asexual ;)

[–] Rolando@lemmy.world 1 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Communities like these need more people posting in them. But if you don't feel comfortable doing so, no problem.

[–] BubbleMonkey@slrpnk.net 3 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

They do, you aren’t wrong, but I’m not remotely the right person to post this stuff there since I’ve never even visted the community and don’t care about men’s (or any) fashion. Beyond like.. wanting some more interesting options as eye candy..

So by all means, have at ^_^

Here are the URLs from which I grabbed the images. Do with them as you like, but it’s not a topic I’m qualified to post about (I have the style of.. well I haven’t.), nor have interest in posting about, so please do enjoy! Take all the warm fuzzy upvotes for yourself! I have no need :) but that style is still chef kiss. And also skirts are comfy af.

I can’t find the third pic so here’s some bonus pics that I’m into instead! Maybe you’ll also like them! Idk!

Couldn't agree more Man's fashion is boring as fuck, it's all same-y

[–] kittenzrulz123@lemmy.blahaj.zone 13 points 4 months ago (1 children)

I hate how restrictive mens clothing are, I want to look pretty and cute :3

[–] BearOfaTime@lemm.ee 5 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Go right ahead. No one's stopping you.

[–] kittenzrulz123@lemmy.blahaj.zone 11 points 4 months ago

My Transphobic community is :c

[–] Etterra@lemmy.world 13 points 4 months ago

Oh hey look, a guide on being elitist and fostering the oppression of the working class.

[–] solsangraal@lemmy.zip 12 points 4 months ago (1 children)

every one of those dudes looks like a fucking wiener

[–] TonyTonyChopper@mander.xyz 1 points 4 months ago

we used to beat people up for coming into work looking like that

[–] lrnz92@feddit.it 11 points 4 months ago (2 children)

Nice! Now tell me what should I wear in 30°C, sunny weather.

It's going to be a completely different outfit, right?

Right?

[–] Twinkletoes@lemm.ee 10 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Where is the maid costume?

[–] Rolando@lemmy.world 6 points 4 months ago

ikr. No fursuits, no bondage wear, no cosplays. I suspect this is a guide for normies.

[–] breakingcups@lemmy.world 9 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Is it me? I see no real difference between 80% of these styles.

[–] niucllos@lemm.ee 5 points 4 months ago

Each one is a slight upgrade in formality of the previous one, so yes there is a lot of near-overlap

[–] scytale@lemm.ee 8 points 4 months ago (1 children)

This guide has a way different definition of casual as mine. Casual to me is round/V neck shirt, shorts/jeans/joggers, and sneakers.

[–] caseyweederman@lemmy.ca 2 points 4 months ago

Same. If somebody avoids me because I'm wearing jeans and a t-shirt, I'd find them completely intolerable anyway.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 6 points 4 months ago

All shirts must have buttons.

Survey Says! . . . BZZZZZT

[–] Wanderer@lemm.ee 0 points 4 months ago (2 children)

People used to look way better back in the day.

Now no one has any self respect and just wears PJs to the store.

[–] solsangraal@lemmy.zip 11 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (1 children)

it's not a lack of self respect. it's a lack of give a fuck what you think about my clothes. if anything, that's more self respect than trying to live up to ~~someone~~ everyone else's "fashion" expectations, regardless of how I want to express myself. and what have you done to warrant me being obliged to wear what you think i should wear to the store?

"iTs SoCiEtAl NoRmS!"

indeed it was

[–] Wanderer@lemm.ee -4 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (2 children)

We all live in this world and we should take consideration for others. People obviously exclusively care about themselves and it seems people want to show of how much they are the centre of the world by actively showing off to everyone how little they care. Contradictory I know.

No one wants to see you in private clothes, no one wants to see "Juicy" written on your arse, no one want to see your gut hanging out, no one wants to see your huge cleavage going to your bellybutton, no one wants to see your arsecrack.

People now almost take it as a sense of pride that they can look as shitty as possibly just to show off. Yea great, you look a state congratulation.

[–] solsangraal@lemmy.zip 6 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (1 children)

We all live in this world and we should take consideration for others.

this i agree with.

but then you take the liberty of speaking for the entire world:

No one wants to see you in private clothes, no one wants to see “Juicy” written on your arse, no one want to see your gut hanging out, no one wants to see your huge cleavage going to your bellybutton, no one wants to see your arsecrack.

you are speaking as if your opinions are/should be EVERYONE'S opinion, which you're free to believe, but it's a dumb opinion that i shit on. more information . see also: "nO oNe ShOuLd HaVe TaTtOos!!" "nO oNe ShOuLd BrEaStFeEd In PuBlIC" etc.

i'm not telling you what to think. i'm saying you're in for a miserable life if this is really what you think. and i have zero sympathy. and i can tell you 2 things: 1) i have plenty of self respect, and 2) i can't think of anything i give less of a fuck about than having YOUR respect

[–] Wanderer@lemm.ee -2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

You really seem to care about showing people how little you care.

[–] solsangraal@lemmy.zip 3 points 4 months ago (1 children)

you're right, i admit: i would like everyone to care less about clothes and other superficial crap, and argue about it online. usually when i'm drunk, which i am.

sober me knows this is a battle of snowballs vs fireballs, but fuck it. it'll make me smile, thinking of you getting red in the face mad every time you go to 7eleven and see an asscrack emerging from pajama pants

[–] Wanderer@lemm.ee -3 points 4 months ago

More sorry for people than anything.

[–] Rolando@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago

Depends on context. If I'm interviewing for an office job that's one thing, if I'm running to the convenience store at night that's another.

[–] ChexMax@lemmy.world 1 points 4 months ago

Self respect doesn't make you dress uncomfortably to grab milk, it's respect for others. People now a' days just realize we don't need to be so formal to still treat each other with respect.

Though honestly, I see plenty of people misbehaving/behaving rudely in public, maybe we should go back to collared shirts? If that keeps people from yelling at cashiers?
