Welcome to c/news! Please read the Hexbear Code of Conduct and remember... we're all comrades here.

Rules:

-- PLEASE KEEP POST TITLES INFORMATIVE --

-- Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed. --

-- All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. --

-- If you are citing a twitter post as news please include not just the twitter.com in your links but also nitter.net (or another Nitter instance). There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/libredirect/ or archive them as you would any other reactionary source using e.g. https://archive.today . Twitter screenshots still need to be sourced or they will be removed --

-- Mass tagging comm moderators across multiple posts like a broken markov chain bot will result in a comm ban--

-- Repeated consecutive posting of reactionary sources, fake news, misleading / outdated news, false alarms over ghoul deaths, and/or shitposts will result in a comm ban.--

-- Neglecting to use content warnings or NSFW when dealing with disturbing content will be removed until in compliance. Users who are consecutively reported due to failing to use content warnings or NSFW tags when commenting on or posting disturbing content will result in the user being banned. --

-- Using April 1st as an excuse to post fake headlines, like the resurrection of Kissinger while he is still fortunately dead, will result in the poster being thrown in the gamer gulag and be sentenced to play and beat trashy mobile games like 'Raid: Shadow Legends' in order to be rehabilitated back into general society. --

Always be very skeptical about "Japan weird" stories that don't cite a specific store or person or place. I'm not saying that this particular story isn't real, but this kind of shit gets made up all the time for clicks.

in this case i wouldn't rule out it was originally made up because somebody was horny and then later turned their fantasy into an article.

One of the things I've noticed about reporting on Japan is how eager journalists are to attribute one-off or rare occurrences to the entire country.

Its like if someone wrote an article about "Britain's gamer girl bathwater" and trying to make it sound like the whole country is in on it.

Stuff like this that really puts into perspective how much of this is just marketing speak, like delicacy and "high-end" is really just shit you can call anything you want if you have enough confidence and clout.

why is this in the "trending in china" section when it's trending in japan?

CHINA

...now that we have your attention: armpits

[–] GinAndJuche@hexbear.net 1 points 5 months ago

The article talks about social media posts, maybe it’s there because the story itself is trending in China? Not sure tbh.

I'm attracted to women, but damn this made me cringe.

[–] TraschcanOfIdeology@hexbear.net 22 points 5 months ago

Being attracted to women but not particularly liking it when they're objectified is the least women-attracted people could do.

You have to put salt and water on your hands to season the rice and keep the rice from totally sticking to them. How would that even work for the armpitgiri? Even if you're super sweaty, that shit is probably going to be sticking to your skin and making a mess.

[–] FuckyWucky@hexbear.net 11 points 5 months ago

Gots to make it salty.

I'm surprised that schoolgirls aren't involved. Japan, sheesh.

[–] Diuretic_Materialism@hexbear.net 8 points 5 months ago

I'm guessing this is like one place in Tokyo but now it's a "delicacy in Japan" cuz "Japan weird" makes a good headline.

Death to America

[–] StalinStan@hexbear.net 4 points 5 months ago (1 children)

In retrospect I am surprised no one used their gamer girl bath water to make sushi rice

[–] GinAndJuche@hexbear.net 1 points 5 months ago (1 children)

I bet at least one dude mixed it with cornstarch

[–] StalinStan@hexbear.net 1 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Oh no. The gamer girl bathwater slime asmr

[–] GinAndJuche@hexbear.net 1 points 5 months ago

Slime, sure.

A diner who tried the armpit delicacy said they tasted no different.

:doubt:

Intriguingly, scholars have studied the sexual significance of armpits.

A study from 2013 found that sweat from that area of the body contains a specific pheromone that can improve human emotions when smelled or licked.

Does it still work if it’s your own armpit or are they just measuring whether people feel when engaging in any sort intimate contact?

look up trinidad sweat rice for even more feminine rice. Never was sure how apocryphal those tales are
