At this point u can run like 80%+ of all games on steam. But yeah if you are a slut for competitive games its not so great.
4chan
Greentexts, memes, everything 4chan.
Tbf this green text is from 2018, it was rougher then being a Linux gamer than today.
True true, very observant of u :)
It doesn't run Denuvo worth shit.
TBF Denuvo doesn't run worth shit even on windows, that's why cracks are more popular than the retails
Not even 15 seconds after reading your reply i see this https://sh.itjust.works/post/18950869
Perfect timing
Oh no! Anyway...
So he did not enable the "Try proton on all games, even if not explicitly supported" in steam options. shakes head
this was in 2018
About a month before proton released

Dumb game devs not writing games in Java
My brother in christ you forgot to apt-get install winetricks
Linux users are the vegans of the computer world.
Exactly, Linux users are the ones willing to sacrifice the frivolous for the good of all.
While being very vocal about it.
Microsoft and Apple have paid marketing departments. Linux uses open source marketing aka Linux users shilling at every opportunity.
It's funny, I hear more from people complaining about vegans than I do from vegans. People complaining about vegans are literally more annoying than vegans at this point.
If pointing out you're right weren't necessary, you would already know and be helping. Oh well. nom
Really speaks to how far we've come since 2018. PlayOnLinux was the simplest way to get Windows games working and that was still a lot of tinkering.
And that was a big step above just trying to get Wine configured to play games. I did that once way back. It was just too much work for worse performance than Windows. I'm sure there were Linux wizards out there who did a better job getting their games working in Linux than I did.
Now I'm primarily enjoying PC games on a Steam Deck with almost no configuration needed. Amazing!
All anon had to do was right click the game > properties and turn on proton compatibility
This is from 2018, so he also needed a time machine or to wait a while.
here
that's the only thing preventing me from installing Linux and also pirated games which are only on Windows
This is from 2018. I can't speak for pirated games but basically everything on steam works out of the box these days.
There's a tool called GRUB you can use to dual boot Windows and still be part of the gang. Just don't say it out loud though, especially when arguing with a macOS user.
I recently replaced MacOS with Linux on a MacBook. And next year my last installation of Windows is going to be deleted. I absolutely hate this ad-infested crap they want to distribute.
TIL how a penguin gets its wings
Sigh. Every time!
