to be fair if you are running against trump in a republican primary you are either trying to do some stature building for '28 (haley and potentially vivek) grifting (rip christie) or a dumb ass hole (ron). reps don't have a super deep bench but anyone with actual experience and brains is sitting this election out so they don't have to alienate the base by running against trump. if he wasn't running i think the field would look different. then again i probably would have said the same thing but about hillary instead in 2016 and look how the 2020 dem primary turned out, loser city.
