Most lemmy instances are overwhelmingly leftist. If you're a leftist, democrats and republicans are to the right of you. So, it's less "both sides" and more "these two things are on the same side, which is to the right of me."
That makes a lot of sense. It’s deeply misguided and dangerous, but it makes sense.
"it's misguided and dangerous to recognize that the good cop and the bad cop are both cops and both want the same thing from you" bruh wat
You are free to feel about that perspective however you like, but I personally (and I'd imagine there are others who feel the same) find the idea that you can't criticize a major political block if you also criticize its opposition to be itself misguided and dangerous.
In what way is it misguided? Why are you on an anticapitalist platform instead of the Capitalist one, Reddit, if you don't agree with leftist structures?
Surely the thought occurred to you that Reddit went to shit because it's a Capitalist structure, and the things that protect Lemmy from that are the rejections of Capitalism?
ROFL! I’d love to be there when you learn that life exists within the grey area between the boundaries of your extremist black-and-white ideology.
I’d imagine you’ll feel so much better.
What is my "extremist bullshit?" Thinking that democracy is a good thing?
Where did I say that? Democracy is voting on how to run things. You're against that, you prefer a bunch of mini-dictators, I prefer workers to democratically run production.
Pretty simple.
Where, exactly, did I suggest not voting for Biden? I've always advocated for voting for liberals over fascists to protect against fascism, but that actual positive change must be made at grassroots levels.
In actuality, it's radical liberals that despise leftists and demonize them for being reluctant to fall in line that encourage voter apathy. You've drunk your own kool-aid to the point that you think I suggested voting third party or not voting, when that never happened. Smart electoralism would toss the leftists the occasional bone and actually move in the correct direction every once in a while if they didn't want to see increased voter apathy among leftists. It's standard electoralism.
Touch grass.
Apologies if I got my conversations crossed. I’ve been arguing with kids who are blatantly refusing to vote because of Biden’s response to the Gaza thing. My argument here should reflect that.
Most of what I said wouldn’t apply to you in this regard.
it's one less vote. stop spreading election misinformation.
Learn how it works. Then come back without embarrassing yourself.
when you vote for a candidate, they get +1 vote. when you don't vote, every candidate gets +0 votes. that's how it works. you're spreading misinformation.
only a vote for trump boosts trump. you're spreading election misinformation.
